PostPosted: June 11th, 2006, 7:08 am

I just discovered I have Jasc Paint Shop Pro, and was wondering whether I could make banners on it because I'd love to be able to make them!

Yep. Use that and your away. I have Paint Shop Pro 7 and using the above tutorial I can now make the banners you see below my sig. It takes time, tips and practice but you'll get there. :-)

Can you animate on PSP?
And how do you get twinklyness like on your banner Johnnys fan?
Sorry, but it didn't say this on the tutorial, but it did help me with other things.

For animation you use Animation Shop (it should come along with psp ... however it didn´t with mine )
If you wanna animate, say, a couple of banners go to File>Animation Wizard and enjoy clicking the buttons!

I believe that twinkles on JF´s banner are actually brushes (m I right?); there are lots of sites that offer free brushes from PSP, i like PANGE´S BRUSHES. You add them to PSP thus: File>Import Custom Brush>find and add them. Once you´ve got all the brushes, make a new layer (layer>new) and put them on, play around with layer and brush modes, opacity etc. It´s been ages since I last used PSP but it works the same as Photoshop so try to use Oro´s tuts (somewhere in the section)

Hopefully you´ll find me of some use ...

EDIT: Ack, totally forgot,
zoomie off to my site, i have a tut on psp: http://freewebs.com/xlomelinde/

I think the animation shop comes with PSP. If you click File>Jasc Products it should say Launch Animation Shop.

Yep, the stars are just brushes. :-)

also, if it helps, it doesn't much matter WHAT versian of PSP you have... I use 8 but have also used 10 and they pretty much use the same basic things. So if you find a good tutorial for PSPX and you have 8, just see what you can come up with by following it. Also, I found that Photoshop has the same type of qualities - I learned my favorite tricks from photoshop tutorials.

have fun making banners! :bounce: it's addicting so don't let ALL of you brain fall out while you're in front of the computer!

PSP X is what I have and it (sadly!) doesn't come with Animation Shop. *sniff* However, you can buy Animation Shop for about thirty dollars.
