<center>Ok, we've now moved on. The quest has begun and the group are heading towards the cripple's cathedral. Anyone can come along, don't hold back!</center>
The group were nearing the city, the town which they had arrived by boat, at was miles away from the city and they had been walking on the hot, dry, sandy road for hours. They were hungry and thirsty.
Amaris looked back at the others, "We're nearly there now. Keep going." She tried to sound up beat but she was as dog-tired as the rest of them.

Hailey's mouth hung open. She had finished off the water in her water bottle an hour ago.
"I'm glad we're almost there... for the what? fifth time?" Hailey teased, looking up at the sky at her daemon who was now a hawk...

Ishion and Anamelia trudged on and on. Though both of them were in great hunger and thirst, neither of them raised a sound, though Ishion was now dragging his sword on the ground.

Will had basically next to no energy left. His mind was blank. All his energy was being spent on the slow trudge he maintained throughout the journey. His feet were made of lead, and he could hear the slow drumbeats of his feet breaking the silence: boom! silence. boom! silence. boom! and so it continued. He lost all bearings of time. He felt sick. He was sweating. His eyes started to droop...

Will collapsed beside Lyra. "Are you ok?" He asked wearily. He rummaged through his bag and took out a half-empty bottle of water. "here, it will help."
He got up, every muscle aching in his body. "Everyone," he announced, "we must stop. There's no use going any further today. We're too tired. Everyone can take a break while i find shelter." And he trudged into the dark. He didn't know how far he went, but there just happened to be a cliff with a rather large overhang. He inspected it to see if it was safe or not, and he noticed a small stream trickling nearby. It all seemed a little too convenient, but for the moment, he didn't care. He ran back to the others and shouted, "I've found it!"

Amaris looked up and saw Will's enthusiastic face, "Come on, let's go and see what he's found." She helped a weary Lyra along a bit although Lyra never liked looking weak so it was a little difficult.

(OMG i finished it!!! The Amber Spyglass! It was so good, and it was totally obvious that Will and Lyra were meant for each other. Awww, childhood love!! So cute! )
