If you don't mind me telling you guys, but you English people have THE best accent!!!! It's so cool! I wish I had a British accent. I have an Australian accent, but not fully "G'day mate, how's it goin?" It's not kath and Kim either... its just, you know... kinda... i don't know. It's just normal to me.

*nods* yes, It went right in front of us, and we had great fun watching it. Not as much fun as we would have had playing the game of cricket we were playing when it hit, but it was fun nonetheless. Lots of forked lightning. We sat in the pavilion of the cricket club and watched it.
oh, and I got a wicket before we had to come in cos it was raining. Not that anyone cares about that

Lol, most English people don't think they even have an accent. I mean people from B.ham and Manchester do, and Liverpool and some parts of London. But a vast majority of people don't. (Like me!)

I would love to be able to explain cricket to you in a post, but it would take a small essay to name each of the 42 laws of cricket, and then describe their usage in a match situation [In our house we actually have a couple of hundred page book doing just that. I'll happily lend it to you, if it won't bore you to death ^^] oh, and for an accurate, (and rather amusing) description of the Brockian Ultra Cricket rules, see this hyperlink http://www.earthstar.co.uk/cricket.htm [It made me laugh, but then, most things from the 'Hitch Hickers Guide to the Galaxy' make me laugh] Elenwë Undómë wrote: Meltithenniel wrote: If you don't mind me telling you guys, but you English people have THE best accent!!!! Sorry, I disagree there. Everyone one has an accent. You get some one from Yorkshire and stand them next to someone from the Midlands, and someone from Cornwall and get the to say the same thing, and you'll be able to hear the difference in their accents.
I don't think I have an accent, but I know I do. It is a standard 'middle english' accent, which is common where I live in the Home Counties [And area to the West/North west of London.

And then I'm supposed to correct their pronunciation (which is impossible) and their written texts (which are unreadable). Now how am I supposed to do that while reading "A tale of two cities" and "Great expectations" at the same time???!!! Life as a normal British person in Germany.
The turkish strong accent is hard to understand, also so is the fijian one

Ok then, I have a Midlands / Near-Wales-but-not-quite-there accent.

Brummy, scouser, jordy. Yes I'd like to have more of an accent, no, I don't sound like a brummy. And yes, I'm from Shropshire.

I like Shropshire. Very nice place, but I've only been there once. On a school trip, to Ironbridge. We spent 5 days there, and it was great fun

I've never been to Ludlow, but I think my mother has. My school used to do a trip there, until they changed it so we went to Ironbridge instead. I would love to go back...
