[romantic? ah I'm not very experienced at that but I'll try ]

Pierre la Rouge adjusted his plumed hat and cursed. Looking into Lily's eyes, he saw her fear. He held her close. "Soon," he murmured, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself that anything else.

The Darkcoats wanted a fight? The Amaris would give them a fight.

"Load her cannons on port!" he shouted above the tumult. "Set her sails to the wind! We have to get out of the bay!" As the two Darkcoat ships closed in, his curses increased. The bay was a trap, where his ship would be vulnerable to both land and naval attack. The Amaris was a sleek caravel, built for hit and run raids, not for all-out battle.

Suddenly he heard cannonfire in the distance. He spun around to see sails on the horizon. Two ships. One was a carrack, carrying the majority of the manpower. The other, slower one lumbered behind like a siege engine on water - the galleon.

Both were headed right for the battle. Neither flew flags pronouncing their allegiance. Pierre knew what that meant.

Madyski saw the two ships approaching as well with growing concern. He asked a minor lieutanent, "What are other ships are near this area?"
The lieutanent answered, "Three, sir. Scylla, Nessie, and the Yuyanis." All three of them were the same class of the Kraken: strong and swift.
"Summon all of them," Madyski ordered. If it is a war the pirates want, it is a war they shall get. "Have them destroy those two."
The lieutantent bowed and ordered the raising of signal flags.

Aer laghed with relif, the Captin was back. "CUMON YOU SEA DOGS MOVE THOSE SAILS" she swung the ship hard about so that they were diagonly to the enemy ships. This way they could escape and still fire at them. "MOVE BEFORE I GIT DOWN THER AND MAKE Y" the crew grinned and ajusted the sials so that they were fluing out of the bay, the one operating the cannon in the prow hurrying to the port side.

Liz was relieved by the sight of the two approaching ships. Still, things were going ot be though yet they had a greater chance to get out of this. She turned to Pierre, "Do you think we'll make it out of the bay? "
She tried to not to express her concern as she looked at the Captain.

Keira looked out and saw the two ships. She smiled widely, maybe there was some hope after all! She adjusted the cannon, so it was facing one of the enemy ships, and loaded it with a cannon ball.
"Cap'n! Permission to sink that thing?" she grinned.

She turned to Liz, "Of course we'll make it out the bay, The Amaris is an excellent ship and Pierre knows what he's doing."

"Come on, you bloody sea mongrels, put her sails to the wind!" Pierre bellowed. "I want us out of this bay or I'll feed you all to the sea serpents!"

The Dragon's Claw, the war galleon, began firing off its cannons and covering The Amaris's retreat. Meanwhile The Poseidon's Cutlass surged ahead like a shark, ramming itself full in the nearest Darkcoat ship. Grappling hooks flew from her starboard side, latching her firmly to the enemy vessel.

Pierre, watching the allied ships, winced. The captains of both ships were his 'friends.' In the pirating underworld, the term 'friend' meant a treacherous scallywag that'll remain loyal as long as matters looked favorable.

Even so, The Amaris, built for speed, was pulling swiftly away from the bay.

(i already said that, hey i have an idia, turn it down if you want. Aer was the original captin of the amaris but lost it to pierre in a game of dice? he kept her on becuse she was so good and utterly loyal once she knew she had lost afairly?)
