I'm really upset at Elizabeth too. Who was the one that almost died, trying to save Elizabeth? Who was willing to give himself to Barbossa to let Elizabeth free? Who loved Elizabeth from the very beginning, when they were just little kids? Who risked getting his life ruined by freeing a pirate from jail just so he could save his love? Who sailed all over the place to look for Jack in order to keep Elizabeth from facing the gallows? And who still wanted her to feel safe, to feel better, to bring Jack back, just for Elizabeth's sake, even after she ripped his heart?

Jack might have more personality...but Will is so sweet and nice, who could HELP loving him? I guess Jack might be more interesting, but if I was picking (well, I can dream, can't I?) then Will would totally be my choice.

I guess I don't HATE hate her. I just am furious that she's breaking poor Will's heart and going for Jack, who I don't even like. If she was smart, I would like her. *Was about to start ranting* Agh! Caught myself! Mel, come on, you gotta stop it...

Yeah, I would have to say, Elizabeth and Jack are hot together. (Will and Elizabeth are hotter. ) But what did Jack ever do for Elizabeth? What did he do, other than manipulate her to get what he wanted and trading her love into Jones' crew?

I was debating over at a lost forum (lol) about this, and she was saying how love is unpredictable, that it 'just happens'. So everything that Will did for her...including saving her life many times...had no effect whatsoever? Didn't matter at all? I disagree. He cared about her more than Jack ever did.

The person I debated with also said Will wanted Elizabeth to be his wife have kids, and have her in a 'golden cage'. But I disagree with this as well. Will never wanted her in a 'golden cage'. He was a blacksmith...why would he expect such a thing from the govener's daughter?

And plus, with what Elizabeth did, she ripped Will's heart apart. All he had felt his whole life...his feelings for her...were suddenly doubted. At the end of CotBP, she sure acted like she cared for him too. But did she still think he was that boyish blacksmith that had a small crush on her? He wasn't sure of anything anymore. And what was worse, he was already feeling bad because he felt that he had broken his promise to his father.

And even then, at the end, he said, "Elizabeth, if there was anything I could do..." I mean, who but Will could say that?

Plus, Orlando always gets the girl.

i'm noticing a lot of angry/hurt feelings for/at Elizabeth at the mo'...she is very confusing right now, in number 1, she made sense then she went and got all weird on us in number 2

^^A...golden cage? Interesting. Personally, I don't think being able to raise a family with the guy you love is the same as being caged in. To me, that's being in an unwanted relationship...for heaven's sake, Will and Elizabeth are practically soul mates. In CotBP they were obviously deeply in love with each other. There was probably nothing Elizabeth wanted more than to start a family with him, and be his wife.
Suddenly they start this whole "Elizabeth wants freedom" thing in DMC. That's a theme of PotC that bugs me - I'm all for freedom, but Pirates wanted freedom not just from laws, but from concience and moral. To do whatever they want, whenever they want, if that includes stealing, murdering, or kidnapping.
But that's slightly off subject. I think Elizabeth did want freedom, but more of the freedom to make her own decisions - which she got, and she decided to be with Will. But what kind of freedom does she want in DMC? The freedom to make out with any guy she pleases, because she feels like it, even if her fiance and the love of her life is standing nearby?

Totally. I'm all for freedom, but it can't be freedom to do whatever you want whenever you want TO whoever you want no matter who's watching. That's going too far. Especially when you're kissing Jack Sparrow while your ADORABLE SWEET AWESOME fiance is watching and having his heart torn in to infinitesimal pieces. I think that kind of freedom isn't healthy for anyone, Elizabeth, Jack or Will.

Wow, everybody's putting this into such awesome words! I feel so much better now! Maybe every time the subject comes up I won't start ranting now...it's starting to get on my friends' nerves. I wanna go see it again to reassure myself.
