I saw the original Poseidon Adventure the other night. I'm ready to start, now that Luinnar's back!

Okey-day...... Now, usually it's a guy who leads them out, so if anyone with a guy character would volunteer for the position of leader, that would be great..... I can't remember whether I posted a character or not, so if not, then here it is..... lol

Me: Catalina (Cat) Vanderbilt

Appearance: Long, dark red hair, blue eyes, pale skin, usually wears dark, rich colors like black, navy blue, and maroon.

Personality and Position: Nice with a fiery temper, might start out as your enemy, but end up being your best friend. Came on the cruise as a way to relax and have a nice summer vacation.... In the Bermuda Triangle....... lol


Cat walks along the railing of the balcony, staring down at the party below her. Some people are dancing and many are sitting at tables talking. Along the balcony are tables for gambling and buffets with delectable treats on them. The evening outside is calm and still, but a gut feeling tells her that something is just not right, so she stays inside. Outside, a storm is building.......

Jenae made her way to a table from the buffet, saying hi to people she had met so far on the cruise. A friend she had made called her over. Jenae went to the table and sat down.

<i>Michael walked along the balcony, watching the party. He wasn't interested in joining the festivities. As he walked back to his room he passed a woman, who apparently had the same idea he did. He smiled and continued on his way.</i>

(It depends, in some stories she's in her twenties, in others she's in her late teens...... How old is Michael?.... lol)

Cat notices a man pass by her and look her way, but pays it no real attention. She stares out over the balcony, listening as thunder rumbles overhead, drowning out the music of the band for a moment. A crash is heard as the cruise ship rocks a tiny bit and one of the waiters' carts tips over......

Jenae grabbed the side of the table as the ship rocked a bit. She stopped her plate from sliding away. The ship returned to normal and she dismissed the motion to a wave.

<i>Back in his cabin, Michael grabbed a Stephen King novel he had brought with him and flopped on his bed to read it as the boat rocked a little. </i>

Lee sat on her bed, reading an old novel written by G.A. Henty. They boat rocked calmly and Lee found herself moving her head up and down to the motions of the waves.

Conrad stood upperdeck and looked around tiredly. It was night now and the stars filled the sky beautifully. He looked at the dark waters below and frowned. He looked foreward to getting him and his sister off the ship.

The ship rocked again, a bit harder this time. Jenae grabbed the side of the table to keep from slipping sideways. The ship returned to normal.

<i>Michael was having a hard time focusing on his book. As the ship rocked, he got up and walked out of his cabin, planning on strolling around the ship for awhile.</i>

As the boat rocked harder, Lee continued to read, her mind lost in the story.

Conrad grabbed the side of the ship, almost slipping, causing some rich old people to laugh at him. He just glared at them as he regained his balance.

Cat felt the ship rock violently a few times, and held onto the railing for support, looking worriedly out the windows at the people on deck slipping and sliding......

Down below, in the 'Staff Only' rooms, confusion reigned. Something on a very large scale was moving steadily towards the boat on the radar screen.......

Jenae looked around the room worriedly as the boat rocked harder. A man she was sitting next to got up. "I'm going to go see what's going on." he said. Jenae stayed where she was, not sure of what to do.

<i>As the boat rocked harder than it had been, Michael slipped and almost fell, barely grabbing the balcony railing for support. He could tell quite a few people on the dance floor were having trouble too.</i>

Cat moves to a window and looks out, staring at the rain lashing the water and the wind making the waves explode out of the ocean, rocking the huge cruiseship. Suddenly, something large and grey looms on the horizon, like a fog bank.......

There was a crowd gathering at one end of the room. People were clamering for a look out the windows. Curious, Jenae got up and joined them. She was able to get a quick glance at what looked like a fog bank before being pushed aside.

<i>From the balcony, Michael was watching the grey shape. He could see what Jenae hadn't. It was moving. </i>

Cat, still inside, realizes what it is. "Oh, shoot......" Her eyes move to the group of people on the other side of the room, staring out the windows at the thing. Cat starts towards them, but the ship's alarm systems beat her to it. The captain's voice comes over a loud speaker, sounding urgent and slightly worried. "Everyone get to the inside ballroom and stay there, head for the lifejackets stationed in the back of the room...... Please stay calm and DO NOT panic......"

At the captian's announcement, many people ran for the life jackets and moved into the ballroom, while others laughed and stayed where they were. Jenae ran to the ballroom, but wasn't able to get through the crowd to get a lifejacket.

<i>Michael didn't know what to do when he heard the captain's announcement. He didn't think he'd have much luck making it into the crowded ballroom. He hesitated on the balcony.</i>

Cat listens for a moment, then moves towards the back of the room, still staying on the level of the balcony. A few crew members have pulled open closets on the floor below, and a couple of them are running up the stairs to open the clostes on the blacony. Despite the captain's reassurances, the large room is full of shouting and a few screams......
