This whole Snape thing is driving me crazy!!!
I don't know if he's good or bad. There a lot of good theories out there that defend both sides of Snape. I'm 50/50 in this one

But I don't want Snape to die for Harry. :(

I've never thought about that. I mean, I hate Snape and all but I don't want him to................die.

lol, I know what you mean.

But I'm in Snape denial. So, yeah. :D

I really don't want Snape to die. :( If he does have to die though, I will only be satisfied if it was by the wand of Remus Lupin.

*grins* you don't ask for much, do you?

I'm not making up my mind about Snape. I'm prepared to be opened minded, and I think it could go both ways...

You know, I've had this theory of Snape dying for Harry since like the 3rd book. I've kinda always thought he'd still be with the "dark side" but couldn't let any harm come to Harry. Why? I'm still working on that :D Hee hee hee. I have this strange fascination with the "dark side" or like the "evil" people . . . you know, like Snape and Draco and even Tom Riddle/Voldemort. But as much I don't want to see Snape die, I'd have to agree that if anyone should kill him . . . it'd probably be best if it was Lupin. But of course then there's always Voldemort himself. I do love all these theories on Snape though. And I think no of us will be disappointed in numero siete!

Who doesn't have a strange fascination with antogonists? :D I'm in love with Tom Riddle with this book and I even cheered for Draco --- but I'll always be a fan girl of Snape :) I really hope JKR will make Book 7 atleast 100 pages longer than HBP. Not as long as OotP but longer than this one.
I think Snape will end up saving Harry probably because of a silent promise made to Lily sometime in the past. I always like the idea of Lily and Snape being good acquaintances regardless of their Houses, not much of the whole romantic level but friends :D

Well actually, most of us DON'T want Snape to die, but we're just being open minded as to if Snape does die and how/who kills him.

Actually, my fascination with Tom Riddle is almost like a crush. I wouldn't say I'm in love with him, but his character is so romantic and gives off such a romantic aura that I'm really drawn to him.

And about the "silent promise" between Snape and Lily . . . I've kinda come up with that kind of theory. Some link between the two. But me, being such an incurable romantic . . . my idea of their "acquaintance" is more romantic. Hmm. I keep using that word. Hmmm. Any Freudians out there;). Ha ha ha. Just kidding. And I don't think anyone wants to see Snape die. Well, there may be a few . . . but if it happens, I think it'll be for Harry. Okay, enough for now!

Wow that is weird! Well...Tom Riddle IS discribed as handsome, and it's a pity that he feels that he should never feel love and need it. I guess he does have this kind of a dark attractive aura about him :) But don't worry he's all yours :D

No, no! Not enough! We must discuss SNAPE!

I agree. However nice the idea of Snape dying to save Harry may be, I personally think that Snape won't die like that because he would really hate that. I can't see him bridging the hatred between them that goes back to his schooldays with James, no matter which side he aligns himself to.
My dad's theory is that Harry will save Snape... hence a throwback to his father.
I think Harry has more to lose (in terms of relationships with people and materially AND in terms of talent, especially in Snape's "area" of Defence against the dark arts. Did anyone else notice the mention of Harry contradicting Snape in his essay. He's got his own views, and he knows what he is talking about.) and therefore more to give, and is therefore more likely to generously save the life of someone he ... dislikes.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, anyway.

That's an interesting theory you dad has. I've always had this thought (always from the 3rd one, I don't know why) but there is some strange connection between the two. I mean, they may hate eachother immensly but . . . just something there. Hmmm . . .

Snape killing himself to save someone....*imagines* I can't see it happening, it's just not in his character to kill himself... But suppose he would; how would he do it? Avadra Kedavra [or however you spell the darn spell]? Or a deadly poison, he WAS once the Potions Master. Or maybe even a Dementor [though maybe not really killing, but suffering].

Herenya: Yeah, I admit, Harry and Snape have created one big crack in the earth between them but if Snape -doesn't- save Harry, what would make them think that Harry would save Snape? Snape may have grudges against Harry's father (which will eventually die away as time keeps going by), but Harry's got grudges against Snape, himself. Snape told Voldemort about the prophecy for goodness sakes, which leads to the death of his parents, which lead to his 10 miserable years with the Dursleys, which lead to almost being killed at the ages of 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, AND 16. Harry's also witnessed Snape off-handedly kill his protector and the only person in the world that's been a solid pedestal for Harry, Dumbledore. What makes you think Harry's going to end up saving Snape.

But the mention about the essay's interesting. I only thought that that was a sign of Harry having to isolate himself from the views of the Wizarding World and having to keep to his own in his quest to find the Horcruxes.

Yay for in-depth discussion! :bounce:

I seriouisly think that Snape would NOT be coming back over to the good side anytime soon. Dumbledore's trusted Snape all these years and look where it led him. The whole time all Snape's been doing is working as a double-agent for Voldemort. And he couldn't have fooled a Legimens like Voldemort.

On the other hand, Dumbledore must have had a solid reason for trusting Snape that will be revealed to Harry in the seventh book. Dumbledore's definitely not one for making mistakes so he must see some good in Snape.

Can Voldemort do that? I don't remember it saying that Voldie was a Legimens....
