I'll join! Even though I've only read the first two books (no spoilers! )...I need to find time to read the next one.
It may sound dumb, but I like how believable and strong and un-Mary-Sue-ish the female characters are. That's rare in a lot of that genre of fantasy!

^Not dumb at all! I feel the same way with WoT and Star Wars. Egwene rocks, she stands up for herself under a lot of pressure.
I'll join too!

Actually, I have several favorite characters.
First, there's Rand. Don't ask me why, I've always had a thing for him. Second, there's Mat, I just love him to bits. *nod*
Third, Aviendha, she's awesome.
Fourth, Elayne, and like Aviendha, she's awesome as well.
Fifth, Nynaeve, though she's always so grouchy and gripey.
Yeah..I think that covers my list..

I don't like Rand. I really don't know why, maybe because he's always down. I mean, he has reason, but he...he bugs me. I've never really liked him.
Mat. Mat is my favorite. He's just plain awesome.
And Aviendha and Egwene are my fav. girls. Especially Egwene in Knife of Dreams. She's just amazing.
Nynaeve is pretty cool, even though she gets grouchy a lot.
Elayne...Elayne bugs me too. She either is acting royal or blaming Rand for everything.
The way RJ has everyone thinking about the opposite sex though is so funny! He puts it down perfectly - and so completely wrong once you get inside the other person's head.

Seems like hardly anyone likes Rand. As I said, I don't know why I like him, but I do. Same with Elayne, since no one really seems to like her that much either. *shrugs*

It's just them. Two peas in a pod.... kinda...
Anyhoo... I'm finishing up book 5. May I join? I like Suian Sanche and Aviendha.

Oh, Suian! She is totally awesome! She's so strong-willed.

*joins*
*is the first guy in the club*
Top characters:
1. Mat. Mat rocks all the way...and I love how loyal he is to, say, Egwene and Nynaeve and the other Emond's Fielders....he was ready to solo the Stone of Tear! I'm definately glad Juilin helped out, though. And Mat's an awesome General, has an ashandarei, and he has his foxhead medallion.
2. Rand is second place. He's a blademaster, a really good archer, and he can channel. He rocks, and he's probably going to die, and he knows it, which adds to the coolness of him.
3. Egwene - she is just cool, especially in Knife of Dreams, as has already been stated.
4. Nynaeve, Lan, or Perrin - all three of those rock, with Nynaeve's temper, Lan's sheer coolness, and Perrin being a wolfbrother. Perrin would be higher on the list, but since he met Faile, he hasn't been as cool.
So, do any of you guys have all the books? My family has all of them, me having nine of them, and my mom has the last two 'hidden' away to give me later, though since she had me carrying the bag with them in it, it isn't going to be a surprise at all. As it turns out, the two that she has and I don't are The Fires of Heaven, and Crown of Swords. The Crown of Swords is my favorite, followed by Knife of Dreams, and then The Fires of Heaven. And SHE has them and still won't tell me when she's going to give them to me. It's awful, waiting.
But yeah, I've read all of them.
EDIT: Horray! I finally convinced my Mom to give me A Crown of Swords! Now I just need to work on her to give me The Fires of Heaven as well....

Yeah, I would have to agree with the Mat, Lan, Egwene, and Perrin comments. I can't really decide on a specific character as of yet because I am only at the end of the 5th book and they are all pretty stupid-acting in my mind. It's all madness, and they start it. Maybe when I get to the 10th or 12th I will be able to decide. lol

I'm finishing up the fourth book It's taking me a while because I have school going on now
I like Rand. Rand is cool. Yay. Ehm...I like...actually I think Moiraine's cool I like Nynaeve a bit, but she's a little more stubborn than is realistic sometimes. Faile really, really annoys me

Aerandir wrote: Perrin being a wolfbrother. Perrin would be higher on the list, but since he met Faile, he hasn't been as cool. I totally, totally agree. I loved Perrin in the first couple of books. But then he met Faile, and his chapters became centered on Faile. The entire time. It got really annoying. "Who cares if the world will end? I have Faile!" "So what if the Seanchan (who, by the way, are pretty darn cool -except for the whole 'Aes Sedei on leashes' thing - not that that's always a bad idea for some of them) are taking over the world? Faile is unhappy! The world is wrong!" grrr. Seanchan: Daughter of the Nine Moons. She totally rocks. Especially in Knife of Dreams.Quote: So, do any of you guys have all the books? Lucky. I only have Winter's Heart and Crossroads of Twilight. Oh, it made me so mad. When I checked out Knife of Dreams from the library, the book basically fell apart! It'd been out to the public for about 5 months, the library had it for about 3, I had to be one of the first people using it and it FELL APART ON ME! Ooh I was annoyed.

It fell apart on you? Wow....I can understand how that'd be frustrating. What're all of you guys' favorite poems/excerpts of the Karaethon Cycle?
Mine would have to be these two:
Twice and twice shall he be marked,
Twice to live, and twice to die.
Once the Heron, to set his path
Twice the Heron, the name him true.
Once the Dragon, for rememberance lost,
Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.
~The Great Hunt, Discord
Fortune rides the sun on high,
With the Fox that makes the Ravens fly,
Luck his soul, the Lightning his Eye,
He snatches the Moons from out of the sky.
~Crossroads of Twilight, A Cluster of Rosebuds
