Hey guys, I have an couple of questions. Okay, I heard(but I con't remember where) that before the mastermind J.R.R. Tolkien died, he was writting an after-story, or sequel to The Lord of the Rings, ven thoguh he did give notes and hints on what happened in the appendixs in the back of The Return of the King book. But, before he finished, he died. Now, here are my questions:

1) Do you think this is true?
2) If so, why didn't Christopher try and finish it?
3) If it would have been created, what do you think it would have been like?(title, plot, ect.)
4) Do you think that from the clues we have that Peter should and try and make an sequel ?

I think you mean sequel not squeal. But anyway...

1) Hmmmm. I'm doubtful. I think Tolkien really wanted to get the Silmarillion published and so he wasn't really thinking about LotR.

2) Christopher doesn't seem like that kind of guy. I mean, he lives in France, all secluded! I don't think he would want more publicity, and I don't think he would feel up to writing something like LotR, feeling like he had to be as good as his father.

3) Well, I think a hobbit would have been the main character, and possibly a threat rom the old realm of Angmar or some such would have been the plot. Or maybe Eldarion would have been the main character.

4) No! Too many maybes! It wouldn't feel right at all.

1) It is true, it was entitled "The New Shadow" but he only wrote about 20 pages I believe
2) Because J.R.R himself said that it was depressing (or something like that), as the kings of the reunited kingdom had become like to the stewards. Their pride and dignity was forgotten
3) Title = The New Shadow
Plot = New dark lord, rumoured to be of the race of the Haradrim causing dis-union amongst the Gondorians
4) Oh god no, he'd completely destroy the legendarium if he tried to do that
