Darrell I do the same thing, vent. I might just get away or play basketball, although I've broken my finger twice in that sport. I also, although somewhat weirdly, talk to myself...sort things out. It is a way of me to vent my frustraton!

Really, guys just dont want their emotions to come between them and their 'crushes'. We have to keep up our reputation...which is hard to build and really easy to loose. I dont know! I think that you ladies can cry (get emotional) in public...no offence...because that is how you are made *still no offence*. We guys, in society, have to be strong, tough, able to seem that nothing makes us upset.

However, if you really want to see a guy cry, kill one of his loved ones. I think that is the only time you really will see them express emotion! But if not, just dont expect guys to show off their emotions, which society forces them to oppress.

I talk to myself too. Helps me organise things in my head. Gets things straight so I can understand them better. I've made lots of situations easier for myself by talking them over with myself.

And hear, hear to the rest of that. Espiacally 'society forcing them to oppress' because that is exactly what it is. And a sad situation it is too.

*wanders off muttering*

It is very true. That, ladies, is why us guys seem to not be emotional in the 'outside world.' It is because we have suppressed emotion from socioty forcing us to.

Does that answer your questions ladies?

Hmm, that sounds familiar Mornie. I find that most of the human race is either arrogant or idiotic. Or both. We just have live with it, whilst seeking out the few that have fortunately evaded those two 'attributes'. Let's face it, those people are rare :(

True. Very true. We are not like girls when we are in front of the society. We have to be tough like a rock.

And in additon to this, men can not show the woman how weaker could he be in the times of despair because a woman wants to see the man fully be on guard against that kind of situations that females more likely are to show some emotions. At least this is how my life goes on.

its a sad, sad world.....*hugs A-U gentlemen* you guys are too awesome.... :)

and about the feelings, i can understand, i think that guys have alot of pressure to be manly and to not show a hint of their feelings.....although i do a share of that myself, i mean...i dont think any of my current friends have seen me cry, i am always conforting someone who is crying....but it is fine i think...as for guys, my belief is that society puts too much pressure on them....

Sirius, I've never quite looked at it that way. I've just thought of guys as being naturally "I-don't-care" and/or unemotional. as for me, I don't think I've cried in three years....

^Come again?

I think crying and showing emotion can be a sign of strength. Now, I don't mean that everywhere you go you should express every emotion you're feeling, cry at the slightest sadness or whatever, but being able to grieve is something that very few people possess. I'll get 'religious' if I go too much further. ;) In other words: everyone is different, so everyone vents and expresses in their own way. And just because guys don't show emotion in public all of the time, it doesn't mean they're bottling things up.
Bottling things up can only lead to trouble. I've done it, I think all of us have. It's a nasty time when things, everything comes pouring out...

Anyway, I'm really enjoying these conversations! Thanks guys! Is there anything the gentlemen wished to ask the ladies?

Well, so many questions to ask....I dont know where to start (JK). Really, I dont have any questions, I think I've delt with everything their is. Last school year, I had to talk with both genders about a very touchy subject. I had to speak with them one on one, face to face. I understand emotion, feelings, sadness, joy, love, hate. The questions I would ask would be complex, and seeming above my years of thought.

I've never poured anything out either  I talk about how I feel, but I never share my deepest emotions, not even to my parents or my best friends. I guess you could say I've got a pretty tight rein on how I feel and why I feel this way.... I do vent through my writing though - especially poetry. But no one who's reading one of my emotional poems'll understand it because I'm pretty abstract, just in case someone does get a hold of my poems and find out what I've been feeling.

any guys here write poems?

Telpeath, try us :P
