I went to riding camp, and they had this old appolousa mare named Joy. It was also a christain camp, but it did have horses! Well, Joy farted alot, so everyone said that Joy made joyful noises to the lord, lol!

I finally got my own horse over two weeks ago. His name is Blue he's a pure bred Appaloosa. I can't believe it though all my life I've wanted a horse and I finally have one

I've been riding for barely 9 years now. I've been jumping for not too long, but still. My current horse is a very skittish Throughbred named Dancer. Jumps like a dream. I'd love to join!

Linariel, he's Beautiful! Blue? is that short for something? I think the name fits him perfectly lol. Do you know about how old your horse is? Oh, and my mom said that if my family gets the house paid off(bills) Then I could Maybe, just Maybe get my own horse!

And Skydancer, I'm pretty sure you can join! You've been riding for 9 years? I think I've been riding for around 10. First sat on a horse when I was like... 3 and got hooked, lol! And about a month ago I jumped for the first time. Only about three feet high though...

One more thing. I just came back from my riding lesson. When the lesson was half way over we had to quit because of a storm! (I hate storms) so I'm a little bummed. But in three days I get an extended lesson!

Yeah, Dancer is a bit of a handful. My trainer is trying to maybe find a better match for me. I mean really, this horse is leaping/launching like a deer EVERY lesson. He really is a good jumper, but I am done putting up with him I guess!

Anyway, I'm really glad there are some equestrians on AU.

Yeah, i'm glad too! If I get a horse, I would like to get a younger one, so It can be trained with me, and grow to know me, and I it. I'm not looking for a competition horse, but an alround horse, one I can take trail rides with and love it. I don't have the time with school and all for a horse that needs Lots of care like those high quality horses!

Any one have tips on what to look for in a good horse?

Well, I always look for personality.
You don't need a $30,000 for what you are looking for.
I hate people who get the push-button horses and they don't deserve them.
I would rather have a horse that is better natured than one that can do everything, but has the worst tempermant in the world.

And I learned western riding first! It was like 3 summers ago I had mastered the gallop in western! I started learning english three months ago, so thats why I'm jumping later than you!

I learned English first, about 8-9 years ago.
After about 2 years we learned how to jump.
I fell off and got scared so I stopped riding.( )
Me=Stupid
Then in 6th grade I started again with Western.
I've been riding ever since, and now I'm in 12th grade.
I don't know why I ever quit, like I said before, Me=Stupid.
