Unfortuneately I won't get to really go into depth with Egyptian history in the course I'm taking. But I'll still get some good background knowledge.

I'm actually studying ancient Egypt right now, along with the other first civilizations. Ancient history is quite interesting. Thank you for keeping that on mind ,& the Egyptian history is really great I rememberb that I was keep my eyes open wide on it's classes coz what the ancient egyptain did was really wonderful
btw kinda interesting that after alexanders empire fell a greek general Ptolemy, one of alexanders most trusted men took power in egypt because of the succession crisis and the empire was divided to warring generals basicly. The main point being that Ptolemy became Pharao and the egyptians regonized him as that all tough he wasn`t egyptian.

That isn't the only time that's happened. A semetic tribe came into Egypt around 1640 B.C. and took over power but by 1560 B.C. they were gone.

eh... Egypt has never been the number one subject for all tough I do find it interesting, I usually have focussed on the world wars and their causes... for some reason I find them most interesting all tough ironically they were the wars that killed most humans ever....

Funny how troughout history some countries/areas have always had powerful rulers, some had their chances in certain periods and some have been huge powers for long times like England all the way from the middle ages until this day. Italy, Egypt, Persia(Iran today) had their times in the past, USA has been a strong power troughout the world wars until today.
You get the picture anyway

you always see the major powers rising and falling... leaves me to wonder when UK and US and all the other powers are gonna fall in dissolution.

*shudders* Too soon! I think the UK is about two steps ahead of the US.
The US is, in many ways, similiar to the Roman Empire. The moral, religous, and political climate of the US is about that of Rome when it was at it's peak. Since history repeats itself, I think it's pretty safe to assume that we will continue to follow it's pattern.
I have a theory about the end of the UK and the US. I think the US will be wiped out by natural disaster because we stopped supporting Israel before the world ends. I don't think the UK will every fall and disappear. I think it will be absorbed into the European Union and eventually the EU will become too poweful and simply take away the borders and turn Europe into one giant country.
But that's just a theory.

The U.S. is in trillions of dolllars of debt to China, when China wants it's money back, we'll all be pretty much screwed. So that might be a major factor in the U.S. falling as a world power.
And I thought we were still supporting Isreal. I read an article that said Bush and the Isreal prime minister preplaned the war with Lebannon as a way of getting into Iran. Now while this statement seems to be waaaay out there based on everything else that our government has done over the past few years I really wouldn't b suprised if it was true.
But I'd rather get off the subject of the modern era, it's too depressing for my tastes.

We do? WHY? GRR! Helping the very government system we oppose... yeah... that makes sense...
WE do... but, if we get some dork for a president in that doesn't... we're sunk.
Okay, we can move on. Who's up for Henry the VIII?

Technically we're not helping China they are helping us. We are getting our money from them to fund the various wars and things we've gotten ourselves into.
Anyways Henry VIII...I don't know much about him except he had several wives, beheaded a friend (Sir Thomas Moore) because he opposed him....one of my ancestors was an ambassador to him (Sir Thomas Wyatt)...And possibly he died of a vanarial (sp) disease.

I know a little more... He killed his wives off because they wouldn't give him sons.
He also started the Anglican church when the Catholic church wouldn't give him a divorce.
He's very interesting... I knew more, once, about him, but it's been so long since I've studied him, that I've forgotten a good deal.
