Leah heard, but didn't answer. She didn't really want to explore - there was a whole box of tantalizing new books to read, and she was busy meticulously dusting and placing all her books on the antique bookshelves, as well as hanging her few pictures and setting up her small silver laptop computer at the desk. She sighed. Knowing her mother, though, she'd be booted out of the house to do some 'exploring' within a day or two.

Lana dicided something for her self. she was going to go exploring again later that day, at night.
"I'M IN LUCY!!!" she yelled running down from her room. she was already thinking of her room as the attic room.

As Jake Hardmer ascended the hill to the old lighthouse, he felt like an idiot. Tucked under his arm, he carried a neatly tied stack of pamphlets, one of which was labeled "Welcome to the Community." It just so happened his mother was head of the welcoming committee.

He stopped at the door of the house and, plastering on a corny smile, rang the doorbell.

Leah had come down to the kitchen for a rag to dust her shelves with, and dutifully opened the door, much as she really didn't want to talk to anyone.
"Hello," she said politely, setting her rag down. "Um - can I, uh, help you?" she continued awkwardly, shy even at the best of times.

The girl before him was perhaps a year or two younger than him. Jake held the pamphlet out and recited in his cheeriest voice, "Welcome to our beachside community. Your neighbors are very happy to..."

Here, he whipped out a notecard and scanned the paper for the rest of his lines. "...accomodate your needs. You will make many new friends here. Just remember - Plan to stay!"

He felt an even bigger idiot as he awkwardly held out the neatly tied stack of pamphlets.

Lexi had already placed her name on the outside of her door in blue and black ink before immersing herself in her art, lying upon the plain white sheets of the four-poster bed and draw long sure strokes along the page. It was only when she heard the doorbell did she run from her room down the flights of stairs.

“Leah who is it?”

Leah looked at a bit of a loss for words. She was normally extremely shy and wished she'd stayed upstairs. "Er - somebody, to, um, welcome us," she called to Lexi, and smiled uncertainly. "Um, thanks, do you, uh, want to come in?" she queried feebly, feeling her face grow hot and belatedly taking the pamphlets from his outstretched hand.

Lexi strolled down the steps, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she walked over to her younger sister, taking the pamphlets from her hand and looking them over. Lips curling in a grin.

"Thank you for the welcome..."

Leah paled a little in comparison to her older sister. She smiled awkwardly. "Uh, yeah, thanks," and wondered when would be the soonest point at which she could politely get away. "We're, um, glad to have moved here."

Lexi leant down a little to whisper to Leah, 'You can go now if you want, I'll introduce him to the family"

Leah nodded, but she felt that it would be quite rude to just disappear, and so lingered a little, not planning to stay long but long enough to seem polite if not outgoing.

"Sure," he said, not certain which sister to direct his word at. He stepped inside and shrugged. "So where'd you guys move from?"

"Minnesota" [i made that up so if anyone has a better idea tell me] Lexi said as she set the pamphlets on the small table beside the door, located beneath a filled key rack.

"Names Lexi by the way and this is my younger sis Leah, Want anything to drink?"

"Er - do we have anything to drink?" asked Leah. She didn't seem to remember a trip to the store and the fridge had seemed pretty bare. "Besides water, I mean." She grinned a little, bolder now. "Um, yeah, I'm Leah."

Lana ran down the stairs at the sound of the door bell.
"NEW ARRIVAL!!!" she yelled copying 'the corpse bride' they had run out of movies to watch on the way there, and had watched the corpse bride about 10 times.

she slid to a halt right in front of the guy, "hi! my name is Lana!" she said in a happy voice. the effects of being trapped in a car for long amounts of time were showing on her. she was VERY hyper.

"Leah, mom packed the cooler with lots of drinks, it's by the fridge" She explained before grinning as she heard Lana running down the stairs.

"This is my other sister Lana, Lana this is.... ?" She looked to the man with a curious expression on her face.
