By S E Hinton?
I love that book... it's got to be one of the best choices of a "set text" that I have had to study at school!

I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!!!! I wanted a sequel, and a sequel to the sequel, etc. The movie stank though, Johnny's death scene is funny and the acting is absolutely terrible.

I hated the movie too, but everyone else seems to think it wonderful because Tom Cruise is it. (At least, I think it's him.)
I was annoyed that they couldn't get important but basic details like their hair colour right...

"The Outsiders" is one the reasons why I love reading so much! I read it as a mandatory book when I was a freshman in high school about 6 1/2 years ago and loved it!! I was impressed by how close-knit all of them were. At that time in my life I had no close friends at all...it was one of the things that I wanted more than anything.
Other people were so set on calling them trouble, and they were majorly misunderstood. It wasn't until the end that people started to realize that all the violence wasn't going to get anyone anywhere.
And I agree about the movie...it didn't do the book justice. Some books should not be made into movies--LotR NOT included!

I love that book as well! It was my favorite of the books we've read at school.
Anyone else love Soda?

I think I liked Soda...I actually can't remember. I keep thinking back to the way he was in the movie because I can't recall the book all too well. I think I know where I put it in my bookcase...I should really start reading it again.

Soda's cool. I liked the guy obsessed with Mickey Mouse the best though(Name?)
Does anyone else think that they overexagereated Dally's death in the movie?

Sodapop was the one obsessed with Micky Mouse, and horses in general.

Rofl Thanks! I've been getting a lot of compliments on that crazy penguin lately. Wish I was the one who made it! You are more than welcome to use it to if you want to!

Yay! *Goes to try to make room in his sig*
I just found the folder that I kept all of my Outsiders work in. *Leafs through it* Oh gosh, the pictures I had to draw of the gang members... *Eye twitches* And my comic strip(I turned the book into a comic strip, with the Socks as socks and the Greasers as grease, etc) And my watercolors and poems... Blech. How traumatic. *Pulls out the comic and feeds the rest through his paper shredder*
