May I join? I've just got one question. I posted my first poem in the fan fic section last weekend and didn't know that this thread existed until I found it today. I've got no time to write another poem at the moment, so may I use this one nevertheless?

*has now regained consciousness but is cowering in a dark corner*
*comes out slighty to speak*
Thanks pip&leggyluvr! That's really nice and encouraging of you to say. Don't worry about not reading it yet. That just makes me relieved. I would appreciate it if you would pm me about it though. I don't get a lot of pms. Oh my god. I hope no one read it. Nobody read it!!!! I just thought I would say that, even though probably no one will listen to it.
Thanks for the hugs too!
*feels slightly better*
*remembers that her poem is still out there*
*retreats into dark corner again*

Tinuviel's Tears, this is not an insincere compliment... your poem seriously isn't bad in fact, I've seen a lot worse.

Erm......... thank you? Are you saying it's ........ good? And are you sure it's not an insincere compliment? Or a........... lie? If you're sure it's not, then thanks!
Your poems really impressed me. Especially the For You one. I could really identify with that. It made me feel. I loved it.

Post subject: she couldn't hide her tears Posted: August 23rd, 2006, 9:25 pm |

She couldn't hide her tears away
no matter how she tried
For fear, she closed her heart away
Since ere her lover died
She fought the barriers of mind and soal
closed of the ends of heart ache
and hid away beneath her pain
for fear of another heart break
But just before she fell beneath
the weight of hidden tears
she found that someone touched her heart
and broke the bariers there
What could it be, this touch so new
yet I'v known it before
She looked and found the king was there
beckoning through her door
For in the pain and sorrow deep
Unknown she faded away
And here in the undying lands
She found her lover's hand at last
The hands she'd held when cold as stone
But now within the light of day
And here where they'd forever stay
Instead of cold with deaths cruel breath
They were warm!

"Where I belong"
The crystal skies parted,
As I floated slowly by.
My mind now disheartened,
Floated through the sky.
Below the land was green,
Lush with it's life and it's love.
But after what I'd seen,
I would rather stay above.
I don't belong down there,
On golden shores below.
In the weather bright and fair,
Or in sparkling winter snow.
I'm simply not the same,
As the lovely lives below.
Now alone I must go,
Where ever the winds blow.
They told me I was different,
It didn't hurt me much.
I knew it in an instant,
That all my ways were such.
But they always called me wrong,
And said that I must change.
I must sing a well known song,
That's well within there range.
They tell me how I'm feeling,
And why I do what I do.
And of my different dealing,
They said I was not true.
And if this is the case,
How could I stay down there?
Stay there in such a place,
Instead of in the air?
With eagles now I fly,
On clouds I lay my head.
Watching life go on by,
From my celestial bed.
But through the clouds came to me,
A light and voice so sweet.
He opened my mind to see,
And shed light on my retreat.
It's not in crystal skies,
And not with them I know.
It's not where mortal dies,
But there with God below.
It's not because of them,
That I do or don't belong.
So I return again,
Singing my separate song.
And in the trials sweet,
That tarry for so long.
I retreat from my retreat,
Back to where I belong.

Ooh, I liked that, Jax! I sing a "separate song" (so to speak) as well, so i could really identify with that. Yours was good, too, Ellendie. Was it about Arwen?
TT, I started crying while reading your poem, and that is a compliment, coming from me! A lot of it rhymed well, and i liked the story, especially the ending. Don't worry--i'm trying to be as sincere as i can. Btw, congrats on being able to share that. I know it can be kind of scary to do so.

You cried? Oh my gosh Eariel, you don't know how good that makes me feel. Well, not that you cried, but you know what I mean. It's like nothing next to your poems, but it means a lot to me that you think it's good! And yeah. It is really scary for me to share my poems because most of them are terrible, but you guys are all being really, really nice about it. Thank you!

yes, it was about arwen. I like to write about her and Aragorn's love life. Here is another, more appropriate one. The other one was just off the top of my head.
(by the way, I LOVE reading these poems. They're all sooooo coool! And I'm not just saying that. Believe me, i've been writing poetry a looooong time, so I know what I'm saying)
Here goes...
Where sea and sky will meet
Beneath the shade we parted ere the sun set in the west. Left alone here, broken hearted Watching you take final breath
I knew that your time was coming That your night was drawing nigh Yet I never thought I'd feel this way When kissing you goodbye
We had many years together Loving, laughing, weeping too; And I always felt contented, My heart being one with you
But I see your eyes are dimming; Your breath comes in fitful gasps, So I sing to you and kiss you Knowing it will be your last
Oh sweet Aragorn, my love and king I know your death is near My heart is tearing in my breast To see you lying there
But I know that someday, ere to long when my years, too, are spent I'll meet with you across the sea And once more be content!
Where stars cast silver light upon The land, undying green Where old friends are waiting there upon The shore, old friends to see;
I will meet thee there, my faithfull love And there it is we'll greet, Though I watched your death, still soon we'll stand Where sea and sky will meet!

jax, oh my word! I sooo know how that is! all my life i've felt like that, only instead of crystal skies, i've dove into the different lands and worlds of fantasy books. 'retreating from your retreat', a line like no other! You know you belong in God's hands (if other's excuse me) and you aren't afraid to say so. I loved it! You clearly stated that being different, though others take you as wrong in their social popularity contests, is alright. That is exactly what i'm trying to acomplish in myself!
(please don't anybody else take anything I said as offensive to them)

I know what you mean. I quite often feel as though i'm a stranger in this world, and my true home is elsewhere. (I'm not offended, btw--although it is true that i would also say 'in God's hands,' being a Christian, so i can't speak for everyone. ) Btw, i liked your second poem, Ellendie. You have talent!
And TT, you're very welcome.

Can i enter? I made a poem, not that good and kinda boring
My hero
He came out of the darkness
Gave life to me in the shadow
My world was so full of evil
Until he came to rescued me
A hero from with in his heart
Fallen in love with a simpleton
Saved me from this evil place
Even from all my selfish rebellion
He came back for his lost love
Surrounded with evil and hurt
Came back to save me at last
Even though I broke his heart
Why did he come back for me
I didn’t deserve his kindness
I wasn’t worthy of his heart
He rescued me from the dark
Put his life in Danger for mine
I was so sorry for he was gone
Will he come back, will he live
All this is my fault, he is gone
Still there is still hope for him
He is an hero, who saves all
He came along to save me
He caught me when I fell
I will rescue him from this
I will Brake down the walls
Take every broken bone
For I want to repay him
For every time he saved
Every thing he did for me

That was nice Lady Earwen!
By the way Ellendie, I loved your second poem. It was really beautiful. The story of Aragorn and Arwen is one of my favorites. You're talented.
Well done to everyone else as well! We have some wonderful poets here!
