Vicki led her dressage horse Cookie out of the barn to the outdoor arena. Using a mounting block to get on her 16 hand horse, she started walking, building to an energetic trot, to loosen him up. When she felt he'd relaxed and set into business, she asked for an extended trot. Cookie picked up the longer, smoother gait easily. After bringing him in a collected trot, she urged him into a canter. His strides felt unbalanced, and Vicki realized Cookie was on the wrong lead. Pulling back to a trot, she circled and asked for the canter again. This time, he hit the correct lead. She played around with shoulder-ins and haunches-ins and other dressage moves. Finally, relaxed from her friendly ride with Cookie, she returned to the barn, taking an extensive time to brush him. She and Cookie were going to hit the big time one day.
She returned Cookie to his pasture before going to the main drive to wait for a family to arrive with her newest training prospect.

Alex came into the stables, and fed Bandit and Pooh.
She grabbed Ruby out of her stall and brushed her out after making sure she had a drink .Alex tied back her hair and grabbed the tack out of the tack room: A chocolate and pink plaid blanket, a heavy chocolate brown barrel racing saddle with turquise conchos, anda matching bridel

Once Hannah and Danielle were done with her lesson Hannah took Danielle and Fred to the cross ties and asked Danielle to go get Freds halter from the outside of his stall. She came back and Hannah taught her how to take off the bridle and put the halter on. She then buckled the cross ties onthe halter and proceeded to show Danielle how to untack her horse and groom him. She said goodbye to Danielle and told her to come early next week to practice tacking up. Hannah washed Fred up and let him out in the pasture. He had another lesson later in the day and could rest for now.

She then went to tack up Monty so he could get a nice warm up. She led him out to the cross country course. It ws a nice day outside and she thought a nice jump around the course would be nice for both her and her horse.

"Okay, Hailey, two more times on the course," said Keith readying the stopwatch again.
"Of course I'll do the course," Hailey luaphed, and stopped right next to Keith to lean over and give him a gentle kiss on the head. Keith was not only Dragon's trainer, but also Hailey's boyfriend. The two had been going out for over a year now, and had grown up together. They had grown up in Florida, but Keith moved two years ago to were they were now. Just before they started going out, Hailey moved up here too, because her parents wanted to live in horse country, and not the sunshine state.

Hailey trotted Dragon to the start, and when Keith called out go, Dragon went into a canter and flew over the jumps. This time Dragon didn't hesitate at the haunty brush jump near the end.
"time... three minutes, two seconds! A new record!" Keith called out.
Hailey got Dragon to do a rear, his hooves pawing the air. He landed, and trotted to the beginning again.
"go"
Dragon flew over the jumps. He was so exited this time, he started galloping, and jumped a small bush jump. Then he cantered the rest, ears pricked forward.
"Time... two minutes and forty seconds! Wow! That would be a record of somekind." Keith said, as Hailey trotted dragon up to him.
The white horse was now sweating with persperation. Dismounting, Hailey led Dragon to some cross ties, and took off his tack. Hailey and Keith together washed the horse with soap and water...

Alex didn't bother to put on her compression spurs with Ruby. She was only a baby,but she was sensitvie enough that if you move your legs inward at all you find yourself in the next gait so she tied the roman reins to the saddle horn and put her in theround pen and took out the lunge whip.
" Walk Rubes" Alex said as she pointed to the right with the whip.
Ruby went into a nice fast walk in the direction Alex pointed.
Alex let her go around the pen two times in each direction.
she made a kissing noise to Ruby and said
" trot girl"
Ruby went into a nice almost lateral trot.
She let her go around again in both direction

" Canter girl" she said as she slightly flicked the whip
Ruby went into a lazy ole canter around the edge of the pan.
"Change" alex said as she herself turned around
Ruby stopped sharply and changed direction
" Hoe girl Hoe!" Alex said as she droped the whip and told Ruby to come in
She grabbed the yearlings tied up reins and mounted in the saddle .

She turned using direct reining but still touching Ruby's neck with the other rein.
She went towards the arena that was not big enough for Dressage but just big enough foe Barrels.
She dismounted and brought all three stripped barrels into the arena and set up the tripod with the timer on it .
Mounting again she turned Ruby to the fencing and grabbed onto the saddle horn for a moment then reached down and picked upo both reins sepperatly and took a deep breath.

She yelled Yahh and kicked with her left leg as she turned to the right.
She countinued to kick Ruby as she leaned over the saddle becomeing streamline with Ruby's neck.
As they came closer to the first barrel Alex brought her hand farther down the left rein and put her right hand on the horn.
Pulling with her hand and pushing with her legs she came to the other side she torn down to the secound barrel and turned around it on the opposite lead and then tore down to the third and final barrel. Tearing around it easi;y. she went off for the home stretch.
She leaned over the saddle in an almost jockey position ang kicked as often as she could.
Crossing the finnish lne she sat and told Ruby to Whoa.

Troting over to the timer she looked at the digital moniter .
" 15.72 SECOUNDS!!!!!1" She said as she slowed Ruby down to a walk and pushed her into the cool down session.

Vicki arrived at the front of the stable just in time to see a blue pick-up pulling a silver horse trailor come up the driveway. The driver turned the car off and came out.
"I assume you're Vicki," the man said, offering his hand, "I'm Henry Flier."
Vicki took his hand, "It's a pleasure."
"Now," Hanry turned to open the trailor door, "This is Opal." He went into the trailor and led out a dapple grey Thoroughbred mare, "I want her trained so that my daughter can show her in jumping."
"All right," Vicki said, "Let get her settled in." Vicki walked with Hanry and Opal into the barn.

ALex untacked Ruby and went and got Bandit out of his stall . to lazy to saddle him up she jumped on his back from the barn door and walked around the stables saying "HI!" loudly to random people.

Hannah jumped Mopnty over the jumps at a fairly slow pace. after she was done she picked up speed and was impressed by Monty he was really feeling it today. She was proud of him. She then saw this totally handsome guy. She knew who it is it was Tod a super nice 22 year old who was finishing out his college degree. He went to the same school as Hannah and they were practically in love. They had been going out since His sophomore year in college and Hannahs freshemen year so almost 3 years. He was a horse lover as well and Hannah was currently training his beautiful gelding named Touch the Top( Tom) He was just a colt when Tod bought him. Hannah has been training him in show jumping and cross country. She leaned over Montys shoulder and kissed him. She excahnged a few words with him and went back to finish one more time aroud the course.

They led Monty back and washed him off and put him out to pasture. He had a lesson later that day along with Fred. It was a semi-private lesson.

When Dragon was happy in his stall, Hailey watched him eat with Keith's arms around her. Then she went one stall over and looked into the black filly's stall. Hailey went into the stall, and led Star out. She groomed the filly, and led her to a pasture with no horses, Keith fallowing her with a jumping saddle and bridle. Hailey put Star on the lung line, and walked, trott, and cantered the mare around both ways...

Hannah and Toby took Tom out of his stall and started walking him around on the lunge line. He had a saddle on his back and a bridle in his mouth. She and Toby were practicing him changing directions on thelunge line. " Woah boy Woah" Hannah said. She pulled the lunge line in and he stood square to Hannah. She then moved him the other way and troted and cantered him that way. " Woah boy woah" she said again and this time the young horse kept going around even as she pulled him in. She pulled harder and took he lunge whip and smacked it on the ground so he would stop going the direction and halt in front of Hannah. He stopped and got the point. She un clipped the lunge line and told Toby to mount him. Toby was an experienced rider. She let him go and Toby walked Tom out of the lunge arena and into the dressae arena. He trotted him around and cantered him around on both reins. They looked gorgeous troghether and ythen Toby took Tom over some trot poles and canter poles. He looked good. They would start to do the jumping position on hm so he wuold get used to it later. For now he was done.

Once Opal's supplies had been moved into the barn, Vicki took her out for a short ride. She led the mare to a small arena with a simple cross rail set up in the center. She mounted, and walked a bit to get a feel for the new mare. When she asked for a trot, Opal sprang into an energetic jog that carried them quickly around the arena. When asked for the canter, Opal responded eagerly. She switched directions, and cantered on the opposite lead. Then she trotted over to where Henry was watching from the fence.
"I wasn't planning to jump her today, but since she's doing so well, do you mind if I try?" she asked.
Henry shrugged, "Go ahead."
Vicki turned Opal and circled the arena at a trot, then she picked up a canter and lined up with the jump. All was going well. Opal was balanced, seemed relaxed, appraoched the jump with obvious confidence, and took off at exactly the precise moment.
But she jumped the tiny cross rail like it was four feet tall.
Vicki, thrown off balence, hit the saddle hard as Opal landed her jump. Shaking her head in shock, she returned to the rail.
"So," she said, "That's why you want me to rain her."
"That's why."
"Figured as much."
This was going to be harder then she thought.

Hannah and Toby took Tom back to the stables. They washed him off and let him out with Monty.

Hannah had to get ready for a group lesson. She didn't have to do anything because these were experienced riders and had their own horses or knew how to tack up the school horses.

There was Kailey, Georgia and Talia. They all had their own horses boarded at the barn and they were all members of the Pony Club.

Hannah and Toby walked around toghether and when Hannah had her lesson Toby stood on a stump and watched.

Hailey worked Star only for a little, and put her away. Hailey cleaned tack for awhile, Keith had to go home to clean his appartment like Hailey had urged him to do.

Hailey sat there for a few minutes, staring into space. Finally she shook her head, and came back to reality. Hailey waited for a man named Edward McGraw or Ed to arrive with the horse Hailey needed to train...

Hannah was going over some jumping courses with the girls today. they were going to a competition soon and needed some practice on getting around a course. Hannah set up a course of 7 jumps. It consisted of 2 vertical, a double oxer. One "water" jump. A high cross rail. and triple oxer and a brick jump.

It was a tough course with some tight turns and difficult lines. Hannah knew it was a good practice course. She let them warm up whilesh was putting it toghether and they all had trots an cantes aroun the arena. Then she asked 2 of them to step out of the arena into the smaller one right next to it. One of the girls was going to stand in the jumping arena and do the course.
