Mort's eyes shifted. His breathing quickened, even though Mr. Shooter had informed him it was quite all right.
"I'm..." he swallowed hard and looked at the cushion John Shooter patted. "I'm not sitting there.." A nervous chuckle wrapped itself around Mort's last commenet.

"You do what'ver you like, Mr. Rainey," Shooter said as he lit his cigarette.
He narrowed his eyes on Mort and said, "You do realize, that you must not tell anybody 'bout Amy. And that special cornfield you keep in your backyard." He smile evily. "Cuz if you do....there'll be consequences," he said after he blew out a large puff of smoke.

Mort cautiously stood up. He felt his hands tremble and his head become dizzy, but he forced the feelings away.
"I don't want to talk about Amy Mr. Shooter...not again, and not anymore."
His framed eyes shifted around the house, he was looking for something or someone, but he did it inconspiciously, hoping Shooter would not notice.

Shannon sighed deeply and bit her lip. She slowly let her gaze rest on Mort's door. She groaned and stood up. Why did she have to care so much? She walked to the door and opened it up. She stuck her head in and looked to Mort, who seemed somewhat scared.
"Mort... I'm sorry." She said, softly to him.

Mr. Shooter stood up quickly when Shannon opened the front door. "I thought I told you to get rid of 'er!" Shooter said as he raised his voice. He became angry and frustrated. "Mr. Rainey, get rid of 'er before I do.....and we both know what that means now....don't we?" he said with a suspicious glare in his dark eyes.

Mort's face turned into a worried twisted thing. His eyes dodged to Shannon, then to Shooter, then to Shannon, then to Shooter.
"No...no...I won't let you do it.." He said slowly, backing up from where the dairy farmer stood.
He fumbled over his grey socked feet, and his back crashed up against the fireplace. The back of his messy blonde hair reflected in the mirror that sat above the mantel.

Shannon raised an eyebrow and walked into the house again. "Mort... what's wrong?" She asked cautiously. "Are you seeing someone again?" She walked over to him and stood in front of him, so that he would look at her.

Shooter didn't move from his position in front of the couch. He smoked hard filling the room with smoke clouds.
"Mr. Rainey, you've got five minutes to get rid of 'er.....starting now," he said as he looked at Mort's clock across the room.

Mort dashed across the room towards Shannon in a blur of his multi-colored robe.
"Shannon!" he grabbed her harshly on the shoulders, pinning her up against a wall, "Can't you see him? He's going to kill me!" he whispered.
But, from Mort smacking her up against the wall, a picture frame suddenly fell off the wall and smashed onto the floor.
Where the picture once hanged there was a different shade of paint, and sketched into the wood was a word...no, a name. The name Shooter.

Shannon gasped in fear, at Mort's sudden outburst. She looked down to the shattered picture and her eyes widened. "Shooter?" She whispered to herself and then looked up to Mort. "Who is Shooter?"

(Uh, actually Amara it was on the wall behind the picture frame...not on the back of the frame. Ye might want to edit.)
"Shooter! John, John Shooter!" He screamed in her face with wide eyes. His brow perspired and he swallowed hard, feeling every second tick by like a time bomb.

Mr. Shooter was now walking back through the doorway with something in his hand. His eyes were downcast as he strode toward the small table in front of Mort's couch. "I don't mind you tellin' 'er about me, Mr. Rainey....but don't tell 'er about that cornfield," he said as he picked up a chip from the Dorito bag.
He munched on it loudly and then put up three fingers....indicating that Mort now had three minutes to get Shannon out of the house.
