"Wh-what?" Mort's eyes darted back and forth, searching Shannon's face for help. "Shannon! He's over there!" he pointed to where Shooter stood. "Not in here!" he pointed to his head.
He was speaking faster now, since the minutes were ticking by...

Shannon looked over to where Shooter was sitting and saw nothing there. She looked back to Mort, with a panicked look on her face. "MORT! There isn't anyone there!!" She cried.

"Stop it!" Mort yelled in Shannon's face, stretching it to an angry expression. "Say he's there! Just say it!" He couldn't take this much longer...

Shooter grabbed another handfull of Dorito chips and stuffed them into his mouth. Munching horribly and then wiping off the excess cheese on his pants, he took a couple steps toward Mort.
He then stopped and looked at the clock. He pointed to it.....revealing that there was now two minutes left.

Mort snatched her by the writst, and took off running towards the door.
He slammed it open, and dragged her down the porch and started to run full speed into the woods, "We have to go...hurry..hurry!"
He glanced back at the house with worried sick eyes, hoping he wouldn't catch even the slightest glimpse of Shooter following.

Shannon tried hard not to trip, when Mort started running away from the house with her. She ran as fast as she could to keep in pace with Mort. "Where are we supposed to go?!" She asked him, while running.

When Mort looked back toward the house, there was no sign of Shooter rushing out the door chasing after them. The house was quiet and still.

"Just shutup!" Mort hollard. He ran faster now, and finally came to his parked car.
Now the reason why it was in the middle of the woods, will never be known in the story..for that is the story of another.
He pushed her aside and quickly said, "Get in!"

Shannon tripped over her own feet, but managed to keep herself up. She quickly opened the car door and then locked it. She put on her seatbelt and was breathing heavily. She remained silent in fears of making Mort upset.

Mort opened the car door, settled himself onto the seat and with a slam he closed the door.
Without caring about his seatbelt, or if Shannon was even in the car, he turned the keys, fumbled his hands to switch the gears to drive, and stepped on the gas....

Shannon held onto the arm of the chair in a death grip. She had wide eyes and stared through the window in front of them. She swallowed hard and still remained silent. Mort was definitely going to be the death of her.

Mort swirved the car over onto the side of the road. He felt sweat slide down his forhead, and his heart painfully beat.
He drove the car onto the gravel road and pushed the speed to seventy.
