"Thanks," Cara said, "But I can't stay long." she moved to the window and glanced out. She gasped. Dark Coats were standing around the outside of the house. She whirled back around to face Adam. "I have to leave, do you have a back door?"

The breacher looked at Athel, who nodded, and smashed down the door. The Dark Coats kept guard outside as Athel and some more Dark Coats entered in. Automatically the Dark Coats began checking upstairs. A woman, apparently Mrs. Sadler, protested, "You can't do this. You have no right, no warrant."
"Population Police, there is nothing we can't do," retorted Athel. "Bring all of your children here, right now."

Adam heard the smashing downstairs. Trembling he lead Cara to the other side of the room and pushed a bookshelf to the side. He revealed a door and opened it. "That's the back of the house", he said. "The stairs lead to the garden. Run." He heard something and sat down on the floor, trembling, unable to move. "They're coming", he whispered. "They're coming upstairs. They'll find us." Adam turned to Cara and pointed to the stairs. "Run!"

Lee patted the dog as she heard yelling near the neighborhood she just came from. "Oh no...the coats! Run, boy!" She took off deeper in the forest, where she never went before. She looked back but then she felt herself trip and hit the cold ground hard. "Crap! My ankle!" She cried. Her ankle was wrapped around an vine and she tripped, twisting it in the wrong direction. She slammed the ground with her fist as the dog licked her face in comfort.

Emily Sadler looked up to the man in front of her again. She was a whole lenght smaller than him, but she didn't care. She looked straight at him "No, we don't have any more children", she said. "And I still say, you can't search anything here without telling anyone, I allow you to search the house of course; we've nothing to hide and you'll find nothing!" She spoke extra loudly, in hope, Adam could hear her and run away through the back door, like she told him so many times.

Adam trembled, he was a bit afraid of going outside, he didn't know what this outside was like, all he ever knew was the attic. He heard his mother from upstairs a talking to a man in her usual direct and unafraid way and knew he had to go. Adam stood up and nodded. "Okay", he said. "I'll come with you."

"We've been here so long, you'd think we'd be bored of this old forest."

Athel and his men began their ascend to the upper levels. They checked every room on the second floor before Athel asked Mrs. Sadler, "Do you have an attic or a basement of some sort?"

"Sure, we have an attic", Mrs. Sandler said. She led the man one etage higher and pulled a rope to let the stairs go down. "Upstairs", she said, pointing on the stairs.

Adam managed to go out of the house through the garden with Cara when he saw a dog, running towards them. He bend down and stroke it. The dog barked and ran off, after a while, he stopped and looked at the two children. Adam turned to Cara. "I think he wants us to come with him."

Athel approached the attic and found the prescene of someone living here. He frowned his eyebrows and asked, "Who has lived here?" Then by chance, he glanced out the window and noticed two children with a dog. He then asked, "Who are they?" Already a Dark Coat began radioing the men outside to approach them.

Lee tried to pull herself up again, but she only caused the vine to be wrapped so stightly that her circulation was getting cut off. She cursed sliently as she heard something near her ear. She froze as she heard another, "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" coming from in front of her. Then, as saw an overly large snake slither past her, going towards her ankle. "Oh no..." She whipered.
