Lucy still didn't move. She was too frightened to take another step forward. What if there was a dark pit before her.....or a monster........
"Edward....." came a shaky voice, "Can you lead me out? I can't see very well," she said softly as she lied.

Kim heard the front door slam shut. She knew Dustin was in trouble with Katherine....that's how things usually ran in this household.
Slowly placing her hands on the arms of the rocking chair, Kim stood up shakily. The stiffness in her joints seemed to grow worse with the cold weather.
Making her way to the hallway, near Dustin's room, she yelled out softly, "Katherine...Katherine....where did Dustin go?"
(terribly sorry guys....been having some hwk troubles)
katherine looked at her mother wearily, "mother, dont worr, sit....hes ....g-gone to look for his little sister...."_________________ resistance is futile...

Edward felt bad for the little flower. "Yes, ok..." he said slightly not knowing exactly how to guide her.
But, it happened, Edward Scissorhands had taken the little flower named Lucy around many more dark corners. They passed massive machinery, odd structures, old cob-webbed robots with funny smiles, shelves of any book you could think of, a room where a strange pair of crumbled wax hands layed on a grey floor, stairs that twisted downwards, and finally down to the last level.
The unnaturally huge door loomed infront of their faces, but the darkness of it soon faded away as Edward pushed it open and the beautiful snow covered courtyard was revealed. It was pretty as a picture.
Snow-sprinkled animal topiaries swayed lazily with the wind in the icy garden. Even though it felt cold and freakish, it was much prettier than other garden. But it was a strange, eerie kind of prettiness, the kind that made you sigh and shiver at the same time.
One stupendously unnerving thing about the garden was a larger-than-life topiary of a human hand, set exalted above all the other topiaries, as if it were a statue of a famous president . The rest were beautiful things; hearts, angels, dogs, cats, flowers, birds, fish, and even something that looked like a flamingo plucking out its feathers.

Lucy followed Edward like a small puppy as he led her out of the large castle corridors.
Once they arrived outside, Lucy stared up at the large bushes that were sprinkled with white snow. "Did you make these?" she said as she pointed toward the sculptures. "They're really pretty! I like them!" she said with a large smile.
Seeing that she was back in the garden where she fell asleep, she knew her way home from here. Walking toward the iron gate, she motioned for Edward to follow her out. "Come on Edward. I want to take you home with me!"

Kim looked weakly at Katherine and said, "Honey, don't you think it's too cold for Dustin to go searching? Why don't you just hop in the car and look for Lucy? I'm sure she's all right." She pushed up the glasses on the edge of her nose.

katherine shivered "i think he should find her, im sure they'll make up.....i just dont want to see them mad again" she glanced at the clock "if five minutes go by and i've heard nothing of them, ill go..."

"I'll be watching the clock, Katherine," Kim said with a motherly tone....even though she was old by now.
Shuffling slowly back into the living room, with her white slippers, she walked to the fireplace and warmed her hands. Her joints ached in pain much more often now.

Dustin strolled the streets looking for Lucy..
"LUUUCY!!!!!!!" he kept crying out over and over. finally he got so tired of trying to find her he sat down on the sidewalk and just sat there for a long time.

Lilly heard someone calling out and she looked out from behind her house. She walked out onto the sidewalk and looked down the street, she saw Dustin sitting there in the cold snow. Lilly looked back at her house and then back at the boy and headed down the side walk toward him. She reached him in no time and sat down next to him "why are you out so late Dustin" she asked him "where is Lucy?"

Kim waved Katherin off nonchalantly and said, "Of course I'll be all right." She then slowly walked back toward her rocking chair and sat down slowly. She moaned as her back cracked loudly.

The black speck amongst all the white snow, slowly inched it's way towards the little flower.
"Now?..." said the shaken wild haired figure.

Looking back at Edward, as Lucy opened the creaking gate, she said with a slight giggle, "Of course now, silly! It's getting late and I need to get home. My mom and grandma are probaby worried about me."
She pushed the gate open for a larger opening and said, "Come on Edward!" She smiled largely.

The stiff metal joints from Edward's legs slowly moved forward. His black leathered boots crunch the perfectly white snow beneath them.
His big black eyes blinked. He was frightened, and yet anxious. Something whispered in his mind not to go, but the other voice was kind and gentle soothing him to go.
"..ok." he said before trudging through the gate after the little flower.
