Liberty Academy of Enchantments, located in Washintgon State, is one of the foremost magic schools in America. Along with the standard magical curriculum, there are also other classes, such as Art, History, Creative Writing, etc. Like Hogwarts, the students are split into four Houses, though the Houses are considerably..different. The Houses are as follows:

It was the normal welcome back feast in the Main Hall, and the tables were jammed full of students, like every other year. Houses were not divided by tables as they did in other schools, which meant there was inter-House mingling at every meal. This meal was no different, since the food had already been put out, and the noise level was pretty high, since students were chatting away while eating, catching up with old friends.

"..Another boring summer." Rachel was saying dryly to the three sitting nearby, who were all listening.

"Same here." offered Jeremy, just as dryly as Rachel.

"That's to be expected with us, it seems." commented Jessica with a shrug, after swallowing a mouthful of food.

"Naturally." agreed Aaron, shaking his head.

These four, even though they were all in different Houses, were very close friends, and had been since their first year at Liberty.

Nick, carrying his plate, looked around and felt a little lost. He had no wish to sit with his sister and her friends, and he had never made too many friends at school anyway - he was rather shy. He shrugged and sat down by a group of four who seemed to all know each other, and dug into his mashed potatoes halfheartedly.

Nick happened to glance up and see a girl looking at him. He grinned shyly and said, half laughing, "Have I got mashed potatoes on my nose or something?" and twirled his fork between his fingers.
