"They'd better not call you a Mudblood when I'm in hearing range.." Sirius said in an undertone. He had been known to hex Slytherins for just that exact thing, and he wasn't scared to do it again.

Among those Slytherins, though trying to distance himself from them, was Jeremy, though he didn't notice Ella.

"Thanks," Remus said, picking up the last of his books and following Ella into the classroom. "I don't feel so excellent about the dance myself," he murmured Sirius's way. He glanced askance at him. "Who's this Scarlett girl?"

Remus sat down at their customary seats in the very back of the classroom. "Remember my first date?" he said wryly. A gawky girl by the name of Sue Jones had asked him out in his third year at Hogwarts. At the dance, Sue had nearly set the place on fire with a misplaced charm.

Remus never dated anyone since.
