Yeah, expecting all guys to be gentlemen is a bit unrealistic...
And that's only if you're rich. I am very glad to live now, with all of the freedoms people [esp. women!] have.

There are many downsides to that time, just as there are to this, and every other period of history. I am not sure how I would have coped back then, but there were so many things that were better...
Hmm, I bet that if we went back and lived for a short while in our preferred period of history we would become disillusioned pretty fast. I mean, look at all the nasty diseases with no cure that were rife then...

Owh, I gotta comment on this. I'm afraid I would fit best into this age... This is where I belong. I learned how to navigate in this world and I'm not sure how well I would do "back then". In RP I do draw on virtues of bygone times, but I believe those virtues also live on in our time.. if we choose to honour them.
I also agree with Darrell. Often times we tend to romantize those historical periods of time, but living with the diseases, bad or non-existant hygiene... and what if we happened to be born as a peasant or a slave....

No no, NMornie, I think you fit in quite nicely now, you manage. If you lived in the 1800's LotR wouldnt have been written yet, and what would have become of you? You? Nazgulless? i can imagine...plus I dont see you all dressed up as Miss Eliza Bennet....though I do see your reasons for wanting to live in such a peacful time.
I think, that I wouldn only like to go on vacation o the 1800's you know, spend time in life, and every summer spend time in the 1800's England....that would be fun.

and its true we do tend to romanrisise, but i think if we were born into the time period, we would definetly adapt like everyone else!

I can't wait until I'm qualified in what I want to do and just get out there and do it. If I could skip the next 5-6 years then I would, quite happily.

Do not wish that Este when you are qualified in what you want to do, you will miss the old days I am sure of it. Just I do. I am just going to the university but I already missed the days when I was at the high school. Just let these days pass as quickly as possible and funny as well. Then you will miss it.
By the way, I wanna be a script writer. It may seem not so important but it is my dream job since I am 14

Lol, thanks Faramir. I'll keep that in mind.
A script writer? Cool, much more imaginative than what I want to be. Good luck to you.
I have to say, I'd love to publish the book that I'm currently writing, but I have to finish it first.

This is my last school year, and I seem to be nearly the only one who already knows what I want to do in the future... psychologist, for people in jail...
