On the same island, on the opposite coast, a small boat drops anchor in a rocky inlet. A figure swims the short distance to shore and creeps into the forest........

Can I join?
Name: Tynel (TIE-nel) but he mainly goes by 'Ty'
Age: (unknown)
Gender:Male
Race: Elf
Faction(Exile or Usurper): Born Exile, Raised Usurper
Attire(style of dress): Mainly Green, very dark green
Weapons: Two long, thin, hook-like knife-swords that he wears on his back, and a knife.
History: Tynel was born in the Ursurper territory when his parents were captured, after strong winds and fog led their boat to the shore. The Ursurpers let him live, and trained him to hate the Exiles, and how to fight. But as he grew older, Tynel started to doubt their intentions, and while when someone was watching him, he did as he was taught and told to do, but whenever he got the chance, he searched for information on his his deceased parents whom he never knew and on the Exiles, and then he found out who he really was. He then ran away and planned to somehow get to the Exiles hidden islands and go to where he belonged. He is currently in hiding along the coast.

((Okie Dokie! hmm...where are we? wow...accually, I almost named my character Rylin...glad I didn't. Must have missed that post.))
Tynel stood still in the tree he crouched in, as he watched a thin girl stumble our of a wrecked boat, and then he saw another elf enter the picture, one he didn't reconize. He squinted, if she was one of the Exiles, he would make sure she didn't come to any harm. He pulled out his hooked blades and swung from tree to tree, silently following the two beings below him.

Ever cautious of her companion, Raven soon found herself walking along with her hand on her sword hilt. By her actions, she was clearly uneasy by this situation, though knew there was really nothing she could do about it. So, for now, she just accepted this stranger's offer of help, despite her uneasiness.
"My camp is about a mile from here."
This statement jerked Raven out of her thoughts, and she merely nodded in response.
Rylin, glancing over his shoulder at the girl, noted her clear uneasiness and smirked inwardly. At least she wasn't as foolish as he had first thought her to be..

Tynel followed the elf and the girl untill they reached a camp, which had no identification, and no flags. Tynel didnt know if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. He watched as they entered the camp, which obviously belonged to the elf that was leading the twosome. Tynel settled himself in a curve between two resonably large branches and propped his legs up against another. This looked like this was where he would be staying for the night. He pulled out his knife and began running his finger along the edge, checking for faults in the blade. He then sheathed it back after finding no dents or nitches. Tynel sighed, hoping that the elf he was spying on was not dangerous.

Settling crosslegged by the fire, once it had been set up, Raven cast a wary glance at the camp itself, and took note of everything in it. Extra weapons lay here and there, and a massive black stallion stood tethered to a nearby tree.
"Here, I wasn't able to catch anything while hunting today, so it's just bread for supper." Rylin said, tossing a packet wrapped in some type of leather across the fire, and Raven caught it.
After unwrapping it, she ate the bread as if starving. She hadn't eaten in two days now, and it had begun to get to her.
"Hungry?" Rylin asked mildly, smirking and looking across the fire at her. He found this immensely amusing..never had he seen a human, if that's what she was, that did not eat like that.
"Yes.." Raven responded neutrally, not meeting his gaze directly. His violet eyes made her very uneasy..they were too much like her own.

*joins*
Name: Dalen Felssain
Species: Human
Age: 24
Faction: Exiles
Appearance: Green eyes, brown hair, and Middle-eastern brown skin.
Attire: Brown and green studded-leather armor with metal vambraces and pauldrons.
Weapon(s): A half-moon-shaped axe with a spike on the side opposite the axehead, a pistol-crossbow (just a really small crossbow, really), a not-quite-round shield, and a long dagger.
Background: Dalen was born in the Exile's city, and thanks to his father having been imprisoned and forced to be a galley slave before he was born (he later escaped), he was raised with a deep hatred of the Usurpers, and is much less prone to agree with those who promote peace. A master shot with his crossbow, he abandons it in favor of his axe and shield when the fighting draws near.
---
Dalen loosed the last quarrel from his quiver, adjusting his aim to account for the swell of the waves. The shaft flew true, and on the top of the mast, the barrel-lid he had nailed on jerked and wavered as the quarrel joined the other eleven already there. Smiling grimly, Dalen clambered up the rigging towards the lid, plucking out the bolts one by one when he reached it. He would need to get a new lid, soon. His quarrels were fine, of course - they had a good many shots left in them, as long as he didn't leave them uncovered in the rain or drop them overboard. As if it was deliberately trying to warp his bolts, rain started falling from the sky, and the wind picked up. "That's odd," he said to himself, wondering at the sudden change in weather. He scrambled back down the rigging until his boots touched the ground again, then walked towards the bow of the ship. A moment later, the crewman on watch in the crow's-nest shouted "Sail Ho!" and the ship became a little more lively. In a matter of minutes, the captain determined the ship was an Usurper one, and the deck became something to rival an ant-heap in activity. Before long, though, the ship was almost completely forgotten as the storm picked up, obscuring all view, and tossing the ship around like a child's toy. After a few hours of that, Dalen groaned, leaving his post to the replacement who had just shown up, and headed belowdecks to get some rest. A thunderous crash of wood startled him out of his sleep before he had been out long, and suddenly remembering the Usurper ship, Dalen snatched up his shield and weapons and dashed topside, his light armor already on. On deck, it was a mess. It was indeed the Usurper ship, but not as he had expected. The ships had actually collided with each other in the storm, neither being able to see each other, and he could see they were both going to go down, the front of one and the side of the other being almost completely smashed in. As he started running to help get the wounded away from the side, a loose boom swung around and struck him on the side of the head, knocking him off the ship into the water, unconscious.
Dalen jerked awake with a start, the water lapping at his feet leaving them feeling cold and wet inside his boots, an odd contrast to the rest of him, which felt baked by the sun. He lifted his face off the sand, a little groan escaping his lips as he suddenly realized he had a pounding headache. Remembering what he dreamed while he was unconscious, he rolled over and looked out at the ocean, and saw no sign of any ships or wreckage except for a few pieces of timber and the panel he must have floated to shore on. Getting to his feet, he started in astonishment as he realized that his axe was still in its loop, his crossbow and shield were on his back, and his quiver of bolts was safely wrapped in its oiled covering by his side. At least some things turn out well, he thought wryly, setting out across the beach. It wasn't long before he noticed someone else in the distance. Two someone's, in fact. His pulse quickened, though, when he realized the second one, the one coming down from further inland, held a drawn sword, and didn't look like he was there for aid. He watched anxiously as the two vanished into the forest, and increased his pace to get to the spot faster. Following their tracks, he walked through the woods, moving fairly quietly, for even though he was used to a ship, his father and mother had made sure he could stalk and track well on land, in forest or desert. He stopped abruptly when he saw the light of the campfire, walking towards it cautiously. Instead of pulling out his crossbow, he pulled his axe out of the loop on his belt and settled on his heels a little ways out of the circle of light cast by the flames, and studied the campsite, and especially those in it.
----
Just to make it clear, Dalen was on a different ship than Raven was, though it was the same storm.
EDIT: Wow....that was four storyline posts that got made while I was typing up the bio and the storyline section.

Tynel smelled somthing. Food. He had not had much food lately, and it smelled so good. He looked down and saw that the two strangers had some bread, it wasnt much, but it looked so good. He shut his eyes, trying to resist the urdge to go and ask for some, out of the blue. Tynels eyes shot open, and he decieded that he was too hungry, he lept lightly to the ground, and crawled past a few bushes. Tynel soon found out how hungry he was, for he clumsily stepped on a twig, snapping the rod in two. He closed his eyes again. Oh great. He was about to continue sneaking, but he heard footsteps. This was not his day.

This is looking pretty cool, this RP!
------------------
As the night darkened, a solitary figure came slipping and sliding down the steep dunes and hills by the shore, glancing uneasily over her shoulder now and then. She wore shabby peasant's clothes with a too-large black coat thrown over, and it might have just been the darkness but her skin seemed unusually dark and her hair was almost white, it was so bleached by the sun. She stopped abruptly, skirting the light of a camp almost soundlessly. She wondered at the two figures that sat within - nothing of that sort was generally seen on Usurper shores. Suddenly a twig cracked under her boot and she froze, violet eyes wide, praying nobody had heard.

Nearly jerking to his feet as he heard a twig snap, Rylin drew his curved sword in one swift motion, and Raven reached for hers and drew it haltingly. The snapping twig, coupled with the footsteps, finally made Rylin stand up, violet eyes darting here and there, searching for the source of the noises.
"Who's out there? Show yourself!" he finally demanded, voice going cold.

Dalen heard the twig snap nearby and rose. Walking through the trees carefully, he circled around and came up from behind, watching the man who was now silhouetted by the firelight. As he approached, the man spun around, muttering something, and Dalen pulled his shield around to the front, hefting his axe in readiness to fight, if he needed to. Another twig snapping across the clearing made him tense up even more, if that was possible, and he glowered. So far, his time in the Usurper lands was not going well.
----
Note - Dalen is behind/in front of Tynel.....so there's two different confrontations happening by this clearing.

The figure hissed a whispered curse and stood straight, the firelight casting a dim glow on her dark-skinned face. "You will have no need of weapons, my lord," she said dryly, addressing the elf whose hearing was so unfortunately sharp. "You'll find you're likely more skilled than I."
