As John started catching up with the Elves, Gabriel stopped firing at the soldiers, turned around and ran with the others. At his side, Merrina, stumbled. Gabriel grabbed her arm and pulled it over his shoulder. He kept running, half-dragging her along.

John was now almost in arm reach of the slowest elf, he prepared to lunge.

Alan saw the officer reach for an Elf and kicked his arm, breaking it. He turned to Merrina, who apparently was shot. Hopefully the bullet didn't hit any major blood vessels.

The arm did not break, it just grabbed the foot that was launched at it and twisted it, hard.

When the officer twisted his leg, Alan's entire body twirled in midair in conjunction of the twist. He freed his leg from the officer's grip as he assumed a ready stance in hand-to-hand combat mode.

Layien saw what was happening to Alan and ran back to help him, a little blood run down her shirt from her left shoulder for an bullot nicked her shoudler as she dodged it. "I'm with you, Alan." She said, glaring at the man whom ruined her life.

"No," Alan said to Layien. "Help the others." His eyes narrowed as he pulled out his gun and began firing. He knew that the officer would more than likely be able to dodge the bullets, but regardless, he had to help the band escape. When he ran out of bullets, he simply bowed and said, "Farewell. Pray we don't meet again."
(To help with the plot, none of you guys mind if I play the Supreme Ruler?)

Every bullet missed, and the guard had his hand on his adversarie's throat before he even dropped his empty gun.
