White is a symbol of goodness and purity. Black is a sign of hate and corruption. Its not racism!

My approach is a little bit different than most... I go all out and beat em [verbally, of course] with LotR-related information!! And if that doesn't work, use lots and lots of big and/or odd words. LOTS. It really throws people off. "You dull, backwards, mindless hater! You know nothing of Professor Tolkien and his amazing intellect!" which isn't a very GOOD example, but yeah w/e...

But what do you guys do if the LotR haters are your own family? :'(

The reason my family hates LotR so much is over religious stuff... and it makes it really hard and stressful for me. Have any of you ever dealt with this?

My family is extraordinarily conservative Protestants. Mennonites to be exact.

Ah.

I found a book in the library called Finding God in The Lord of the Rings. The authors believe there are some Christian themes in the Lord of the Rings... I'm not sure if that'll help...

No that won't work. But thank you, you're very helpful. :)

Just ignore the comments, that's what I do.
