Yes, I read the Mists of Avalon. I didn't really like all that much. It was very interesting, true, but I thought it was slightly depressing. I didn't like how Morgaine had Kevin killed and then Nimue killed herself. I thought that was so sad! :'(

I agree, I was a little ticked off at how cold-hearted Morgaine became by the end of the book. Poor Accolon... :(

It's kind of funny though to see how The Mists of Avalon has influenced other writers. Today I was reading Tamora Pierce's The Immortals quartet (well, I'm only on book 1) and there was some mention of the Beltane fires and a guy with horns on his head, and I did a double-take to make sure I had read it correctly...but yeah, I guess Ms. Pierce was influenced by Avalon!

You're reading Tamora Pierce? I've read her other series, like The Song of the Lioness, Protector of the Small, Circle of Magic, and The Circle Opens. As well as Trickster's Queen. I've read the first of the Immortals, but haven't got to the others in the quartet. :bye2:

Yup, I like her books! I've read the Song of the Lioness Quartet, the Protector of the Small quartet, and just finished the Immortals quartet last night. Do you know which series comes next, or is it completely unrelated to Tortall?

The next series related to Tortall? I think it's Trickster's Choice followed by Trickster's Queen. Have you ever heard of them? They're both related to Tortall, and each of the two books are as long as two books. That's because Tamora Pierce (you know how she loves making quartets rather than trilogies or doubles?), she learned from J.K. Rowling that kids nowadays are getting interested in longer books. So instead of making the Trickster's books a quartet, she just combined two books to one, resulting in four books combining into two books, whose titles are shown above. (Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen).

The Trickster's series is about a girl named Aly, who is the daughter of Alannna in the Song of the Lioness Quartet. I've read the second book. :bye2:

OOo! Sidetracked! Trickster's Choice! I love it! Even if she falls in love with a crow! But it's still good! I still have to read Trickster's Queen *mutters about not being there in the library* Hmph I saw it at Barnes and Nobles yesterday almost bought it...but How is it? Is it worth buying and adding to the collection?

*coughs* Unlike you, I haven't read Trickster's Choice, though I have read Trickster's Queen. Is it good? Umm, it's really hard to say. Kind of disgusting at some parts - I'm not into that kind of romance! Personally? I wouldn't buy it, but maybe you'd like it better. Or maybe you can check it out at the local library and see if it's good. :bye2:

I have not read the book but I have seen the movie and I love it. I don't know how it compares to the book but the movie is great I think. The music in the movies is also really good.

I've read the books but I can't seem to get the movie over here. Damn it! I hear its really good. Has anyone read the other books in the series

-The Forests of Avalon
-The Priestess of Avalon
& the Lady of Avalon

They're all kind of prequels to the MOA. But they are fantastic! I love them, they are some of my favourite books!

Mists of Avalon is an awesome book! I remember reading it in France last year...but not in French, that would be too much of a struggle!

I refused to watch the movie, because I was afraid it would diverge from the book too much, and I just can't see Anjelica Houston as Viviane. Too difficult!

I really want to read it, but whenever I go to the bloody library, it's checked out. Hmmm. Must conspire. *goes and plots revenge* *evil laughter heard . . .*

Anyways, I've heard it's really good. I've seen a couple parts of the movie . . . but I don't really want to watch it until I've read the book. And once I do that, I'll decide. But I doubt I'll see it.

Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha! *screams in fright as Teliza tries to poke her* Eeek. I'll fence you with the foil I STILL haven't returned to Jon. But that's another story for another time. ANYWAYS...

I just got the book from the library. Haven't put it down. Very, very, very, very, very, very good. Of course it makes me angry for other reasons in which only Larien and Teliza would know about ;) Hee hee hee. But it's AWESOME! I love it so far! *evil laughter* Okay. I must go now...for...other reasons...hee hee hee

Okay. So, I really like the book and everything, but right now, I just want to rip off Gwenyfer's (I don't know how to spell it!) head! :explode: Ha ha ha! Argh! I don't really know why except that she reminds me of a little annoying fly buzzing around every where and no matter what you do, you can't kill it.

Umm . . . ha ha ha. Sorry about that gruesome picture of ripping off someone's head. I'm just bored with her. Grrr. But other than her, I'm enjoying it quite a bit! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

:-D :-D :-D Yay! I'm glad you like the book MontanaBohemian! I know what you mean about Gwenhwyfar (or however you spell it)...she doesn't seem to have much spine or sense...She has Perpetual Damsel-in-Distress syndrome it seems to me.
You get less angry the more you read it, I think...or maybe if you kind of ignore Gwenhwyfar...
