"How are we going to avoid getting spotted?" Merrina wanted to know, emerging from her hiding place. "We're not exactly inconspicuous, if you know what I mean, and they're going to be keeping a sharp eye out for us."

"Okay.... so you tell me that our snipers got their asses handed to them? Hah... I should have expected as much, bloody military had to make those things. Okay, keep on their tracks and report me about their course so we can see, if they are heading anywhere specific.
Then we can lay an ambush on the bloody elves... have the copter return to base and wait for further instructions, also tell them to equip it with weapons. I want these elves nailed..."
He said with a grin to his cellphone as he procceeded to the closest secret police base of operations from where he could monitor the situations and make new plans about how he would kill the elves.

"For one, we are scarred permamently now," Alan said as he continued to run. "We can't just hide among the people and pretend that we are humans. Not unless you have an idea where we can get our ears fixed and wigs. We will have to take shelter in the woods or a village nearby. When we rest, two of us must be on guard. Like I said, once we are in a city, it will become slightly easier. We will have to steal food, water, ammuntion, and other important supplies. More than likely, we will have to steal a car or something of that manner. It will be hard to avoid being spotted. We have the law and the people against us since the Speak No Evil has probably denounced as freaks or monsters. Our jackets can conceal our hears to a degree."

"They didn't," Alan said. "They probably set up a perimeter to surround us. That means they also probably know that we managed to breach that perimeter. We have to be more cautious. They might sent helis that have heat sensors. That makes our journey all the more difficult..." He broke off when he suddenly remembered. "We could find a river and swim our way towards Manchester. The city isn't too far. But if we don't find one....we will have to reach Manchester before they find us here."

Merrina looked doubtfully at her arm, which had now been shot twice and was tightly bound up. She opened her mouth to say that swimming was not a good idea at this point - but shut it again, not wanted to hold them all back.

Meinrad met Trosky at the base, jogging up with his smoking M40 in hand. In disgust, he threw the sniper rifle on the ground and nursed an injured shoulder. That *beep* Hakani had nailed him from behind, while he'd been shooting in the trees.
"Remind me whose friggin' genius idea this was."

Alan nodded and said, "It won't be for long. Besided we don't have to stay in the river for too long. Just long enough for us to confuse the heat sensors." That gave him another idea. "Help me create seven small fires. I want them to be controlled this time." He began digging out a hole in the ground. Once he deemed it satisifying, he placed dry material into the hole and surround the opening and the material with rocks. He then lit it.

"Swimming sounds good." Gabriel said. He noticed Merrina glance at her bandaged arm. <i>It's probably hurting her.</i> he thought. He would keep an eye on her.
He crouched on the ground a little ways from Alan, digging his own hole in the ground and filling it with dry grass and kindling wood. He piled rocks around it.

Merrina did likewise, creating a small but bright fire in the softer ground. She was relieved that they wouldn't have to swim for much of an extended length of time, as her arm felt heavy and numb.

"There's no strong wind, they should last long enough to trick the heat sensors." She said.
