Yeah witht he western sadle you lean slightly backwards. But from what I have heard that is the best way to ride a horse anyway. Because since they get there power from there back feet you need to keep your weight shifted towards the back or at least straight up. And a lot of the reason some horses want to run is because the rider leans to far forwards and the horse is in a sense "Shifted off balance"
Mind you this is just what I have heard but to the best of my knowledge it is acurate. *shrugs*

hm... sounds like your talking about horse back riding... well...
In western you do sit straight, but only certain kinds of western riding you sit back. Yes there are different kinds of western riding, and western saddles(that supprised my mom). The kind of western I know, which is kind of everyday, trailriding western, you just sit strait, but you're aloud to slouch.
In english, you have to sit strait, your hip has to be right above your foot. And when you jump you have to lean forward into two-point.
And theres sidesaddle too, which I've heard is VERY painful.
racing saddle, jumping saddle, dressage saddle, Lane Fox saddle, and Polo saddle, and I've got desscriptions on how they are different.

I like riding bareback too! It's fun, and not so complicated! Though it is a bit harder to stay on... it's still cooler!

It is funn. And SOO much simpler as well. lol
Yeah, it is a little bit harder to hold on but I would still much rather deal with that than having to spend the time getting the saddle on. (lol maybe I am just impatient)
Besides I find bare back to be MUCH more comfortable as well. lol

It's more confortable only if the horse doesn't have a bony back! I've riden horses with nice backs and horses with boney backs... when I ride a horse with a boney back bareback, thats when I want to ride with a saddle... and a western saddle at that!

lol that's kind of interesting.
We used to have a cow we could ride. She didn't care, you could climb on and she would just sit and eat, walk around and act normal. lol
We also had a pig like that once when we used to have pigs. We would ride him. (we were smaller then. Now we would be to big lol)

hehehehehehe mmmmm porc. I tell you something i really hate, townies who don't get that you have to kill the cute little animals to eat it. We keep chikenns, geese, doves and turkeys. Every chrismass we kill all but two of the turckeys and sell them. Its a fact of life, why don't peole get that?

Ditto. I have ALWAYS thought the same way.
It makes absalutly no sense to me whatsoever how people can not understand that. But growing up on a farm I am bound to be a little more used to it.
I don't know... But hey, if they don't want to eat animals I supose that's there choice. It's just osme people take it to such an extreeme that it makes me wana slap them. Like when they try suing places for using cow skins... makes me mad... lol Yeah but anyway.. Each to his/her own I guess. *shrugs*
