I don't know. It probably sounded too unlike the other titles...who knows what strange thoughts enter the minds of those who run Disney?

Hmmm...Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and Calypso's Fury. It is a little out of place. Though I don't know that At World's End is much better, it sounds awkward to me. But you know, I'm a North American teenage girl and I don't catch all these nuances

The two other titles proposed by the writers (besides At World' End) were Calypso's Fury (okay...I kinda like it) and Uncharted Waters (I loved that one). But I can live with At World's End.

Yeah, Uncharted Waters is a good one. And I mean, doesn't it sound cooler to say in a TV-announcer voice, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Uncharted Waters" than it does to say "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"? Though I think Calypso's Fury is the best out of all of them. I guess it gives away a bit more, though - anyone who surfs the 'net at all know that Tia Dalma is most likely Calypso, and that leads one to wonder what provoked Calypso's apparent Fury. Maybe someday I'll name a boat Calypso's Fury.

Hm...I think the title needs a 'of the' in it.

Eh...so does the Flying Dutchman
And when ye take into consideration Barbossa's line in CotBP ("Yer off the edge of the map, mate! Here there be monsters!"), Beckett's line in DMC ("The world is shrinking. The blank edges of the map filled in."), and Tia's line ("Are ye willin' ta sail to de ends o' de Eart' and beyond..."), Uncharted Waters seems very fitting, as well as a nice nod to the previous two films. This movie is essentially the final frontier. As Beckett has said, the blank edges of the map are filled in, and all that's left is the uncharted waters at the literal end of the world. AWE deals largely with the supernatural, so I think tying it to the last unknown in the world is somewhat fitting.

Good point. 'At World's End' sort of fits that theme, going to the end of the earth and all.
And The Flying Dtchman was a spongebob episode. He's appeared in quite a few.

I know, that's why I said it. Spongebob is my guilty little pleasure; nobody knows I like it, but I discreetly watch it whenever my brothers have it on

No kidding? Spongebob annoys me to no end. I have Spongebob pyjamas...but only because Wal-Mart didn't carry anything else! Er, sorry, that was kinda random. But yeah, he annoys me.

I like Spongebob's laugh. Anyway... I like At World's End best and I'm sticking to it!
