"the wisest, fairest and most intelligent? you mean the elves!" Nienna exclaimed almost fearfully.

then she grabbed her head and doubled over in pain.

"The evil is rising!" she gasped out before falling to her knees, "It is very strong." her eyes opened and grew wide with horror and fear. "It's coming! and he is with them! no,please, stop!" Nienna was in a trance, caught up in some other place where something was wrong. sweat beaded out on her forehead and upper lip.

"NO!" she screamed before her head whipped up and she looked around at the group.

"Soemthing horrible is coming. i know you are wondering, but i can not speak of it. for it is far too evil that my mouth can not form the words." she took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "nothingl ike that has ever happened to me before, but i know it is not a good sign." she stood back up.

Manwawen looked at the ground. What had she gotten herself into? If she hadn't been curious she wouldn't have been mixed up in all this... well not as much as she was now...

'Our world is changing...and we can feel it...teh quest calls upon those worthy and strong enough to overcome the evil if we act quickly. We must conjure up a plan' Bombadil spoke lightly as he helped Nienna to her seat.

'Yes...I speak of wise, fair and intelligent creatures...elves, but also Wizards and even humans again..Understand we must do everything in our power to hold this evil down for the time being....'

Frodo looked anxious as these words rolled from Bombadils lips.

'Why are you here? Because you have been called...' He stated.

"Called?! caled into this mess? called into what will probably be the last days of Middle Earth as we know it? and why me? why Frodo? Frodo already did his deed, he saved all of Middle Earth from a terrible fate, and he is again called? and i, i am not worthy of this quest, my own village made me an outcast because i was different. i am no normal elf, i di dnot tell you this before because i did nto want to be rejected again. i am a Gift of the Valar. and for this i am hated, tell me. why would a hated and feared creature be called?"

Nienna was almost furious. it was most unfair to Frodo and she would probably make bad luck for her companions. could it get any worse?

She closed her eyes and fell back against her saet, this owuld be a long meeting.

Manwawen spoke, "We..." she waved her hand to refur to Nienna, Frodo, herself, and the others in the room, "were all called here... for some quest that would be anymore periolus than the War of the Ring? I lost my mind durring the Third Age because of the evil... and I was called here to help fight a greater evil? I'll lose more than my mind..."

'Yes it is true young elf' Bombadiul continued

'For reasons that we cannot yet be sure of. Believe me I have seen some horrid things in my time but the way i feel about this...There will be no greater Evil than the one we are about to face. Although I will not be able to protect you...'

Frodo looked concerned

'There is no way to find out what it is you youngsters are up against...and there never will be until we summon a council of Istari'

Lucy was quietly watching an amazing scene at Bombadil's house... he was talking about the greatest Evil ever imagined, he was talking about a council of wise, fair and intelligent people...

- Why am I doing here? - Lucy thought. I am not wise, I'm not fair, I'm not even intelligent, only I can do is gardening!!

The only great hobbit hero was standing in front of her and he didn't seem to be in conditions to do anything about this Great Unknown Evil. Will the elves be able to help Middle-Earth again? Will the hobbits? Lucy didn't think so.

But suddenly, Lucy looked around her and saw many disturbed but friendly faces... She didn't knew many of them but she felt she had fallen into a story like the ones she used to hear when she was a child.

"Well" - she thought - "since I'm here I must be part of this! And I don't want this to end, I don't want a Great Unknown Evil destroying my beautiful land, destroying Middle-Earth, destroying the happiness we've been living since the days of King Aragorn."

So a strong and strange feeling made Lucy ran towards Bombadil and ask:

- Mr. Bombadil, can we do anything to avoid this Great Unknown Evil to destroy us?

Frodo looked as Lucy lept across the room to speak to Bombadil. He pulled a slight grin and let out a little chuckle. The whole room smiled at how quickly Lucy just sprang back into the converstaion. They all looked worried, however.

Bombadil walked over to the crackling fire which let of the calming ssmell of burning wood each time he passed it as it wafted the smell across the room.

'I have been around since before time...I know all there is to know about Middle-Earth...I know each Tree, I know each Bird, I have been awoken to the great evils of every age. The Fouth one...I fear though...will be much more than we could ever imagine. The only reason in which I can support you after tonight...is by saying form a council. After the council is formed I will no longer be able to assist you. Even the most unlikley of us can change the fortunes of the free people's of Middle-Earth. The diminion of men is failing, we have spent too long deliberating over the matter young one's, too long...It is time to act. Frodo, you know that this evil is more advanced...It is almost impossible to see a way through it, each one of you, have been involved in something related to Middle-Earth...each one of you here tonight are heroes in one way or another. You can feel this call, It is time Frodo.'

Frodo stood and grabbed his walking stick. He could imagine Bilbo doing the same as he set out on his very first adventure to the Lonley Mountain to defeat Smorg.

'Frodo...I know what you are thinking. And you're right...there <italics>are</italics> some hurts that go too deep. Some that cannot be undone. Your first quest was meerley a test, It was like your uncle Bilbo's first adventure. Bilbo is in Danger in Valinor, as are the other elves, and they know it. They have had to move on, and your uncle will have to move with them. Frodo...Hobbits really are the most amazing creatures...and this is the quest on which you will venture in order to see that for yourself. Although the hurt is too deep from Mordor, and you can still feel the scar *Frodo clenches chest* It was...if you like, a preparation for what you are about to do.'

Frodo looked down at the floor. He could not understand. He thought to himself. He thought about the long days of suffering, the lack of food, Gollum, The emotional effects, Boromir and Haldir. How could Bombadil possibly dismiss all of that as just a 'tester'? It was impossible. Surley nothing could ever surpass the long suffering that happened in the third age. He then thought about Gandalf...and his wise words long ago when he had stated he wish he had never been faced with the ring. 'So do all who live to see such times...but it is not for them to decide...all you have to do, is to decide what to do with the time that is given to you.' With that, Frodo put out of his head all of the bad things that came from the war of the ring, and thought of instead, all of the good things that came to pass because of it. He knew again that without him, the quest could fail. He knew in his heart as he felt the searing pain of the blade rush through him, that he was the one capable of fulfilling this quest. With that thought, he boldly stood, lifted up his head and a tear ran down his cheek and he stated with a deep breath...

'I am Ready.'

((um... Frodo-Guide... you said the dragon's name was Smorg... well it's not, it's Smaug. *grins*))

Manwawen shifted unconfortably in her seat, then stood, yet shakely, and said
"I am also ready for this Unknown evil. There is nothing I can lose..."

[lol i know i knew i'd spelt it wrong! lol]

Frodo looked at the elf standing bravley and thought about the fellowship of the ring.

He was no longer scared.

He thought again of the incredible friendship he had made with the fellowship and let out a subtle smile. He breathed in deep and headed toward Bombadil.

'The council...' Bombadil said.

(I pmed Frodos-Guide...)

A cool breeze came through the peaceful valley of the Shire. In a very, very old tavern, repectively known as the Green Dragon, two hobbits, also well-known for their courage and fool-hearted acts, sat across from each other, each drinking a hearty mug of ale.

The names of the hobbits where Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took. Or better known as Pippin and Merry, the followers of the great Ringbearer, Frodo Baggins. Pippin took a long drink of his mug of ale and then, said,
"Well, Merry, times have been quiet here since Frodo and Gandalf left."
"Aye, they have. I've missed old Frodo...a jolly old fellow, don't you think?" Merry asked, and Pippin shook his head vigourously.
"Yes, yes! He was more of a Took than Baggins, in my oponion." Merry laughed as leaned back in his chair. Then, thinking for a moment while lighting his pipe, Merry leaned in and whispered,
"But things aren't so quiet outside the Shire." Pippin looked at him inquiringly and asked,
"What sort of things, Merry?"
"Rumors have grown of old Bambadil(sp) leaving for many years ago from his old cottege and leaving the shores. Now, folk say he is back and with guest. I say, we go to the old hobbits house and see the if the rumors are true!" Merry had a gleam in his eye that he hadn't had in many years. Pippin smiled and asked,
"Another adventure?"
"Another adventure." Both hobbits lifted their mugs and then, after the mugs clinked together, both downed there mug in once simple drink.

(I'll reveal my other char when the time is right. :))

Nienna stood up.

"I am also ready. if this is my calling i shall fullfill it best i can. i can not promise that i will do any great deeds or save anyones life, but i shall do my best in what i can do."
She looked at Frodo
"You are brave, young hobbit, and strong. and you have many friends to help you on this second journey that you shall embark upon. i hope that you shall count me in as one of your friends, but i will not force you ny any means."
she grinned for the first time in ages, and it felt good.

Merry and Pippin prepared that night and the saddled their ponies and left in the middle of the night. They didn't stop very often. (expect one detour at Maggots Farm for some breakfast. :)) That morning, they arrived at Old Tom's house, worn but excited. Merry and Pippin tied their ponies to a tree and gave them some apples before Pip lead the way to the front door. Grinning, Merry knocked on the door and waited.

All was still at the house of Bombadil. It was about time they were able to get some sleep.
Frodo dreamt peacefully by the fire whilst Elthara was upstairs. Bomadil was snoring from his room is a comforting environment.
Just then Frodo's eyes opened suddenly as he heard a great thudding coming from the door. He fell to the floor clenching his scar. Elthara heard the screams of pian as Frodo writhed around in agony. She lifted his head and he said 'It's time...I can feel it...'

Bombadil rushed down the stairs to attend to Frodo and he stopped writhing. Frodo was breathing heavily and beads of sweat dripped down his brow.

'We can celarly see that this morning we shall set out to find the council. We cannot, for much longer, linger. The pain will only endure, much as the power of Sauron once did, but we no longer speak of him. His armies of Mordor may have gone, but the evil has prolonged. Today we must set out to seek Gandalf. There is no more time we can afford to waste. The land of Valinor is cleared out. Your uncle, Frodo, is safe in the hands of the elves, though i cannot say that I know of his location. I have warned you, that I cannot afford to meddle in such evil and though I am able to assist you in seeking out your destiny, I cannot fulfill it for you. Come, for the time is upon us.' Bombadil explained.

The knock was forgotten about and everyone caught up on as much sleep as they could in order to prepare for what was ahead.

The air was still. There was a strange feeling about this morning, everyone could feel it, though they dare not mention it for fear that tehy would curse it. Everyone was up and ready. They had each grabbed the necessary items to continue. They packed their bags with honeycombe, milk and bread. Each one with surplus just in case. Bombadil looked at everyone standing so prepared before him, Goldberry at his side. 'My dear friends...do not expect anything...not even the worst, for there is nothing worth expecting, and anything you do expect will be worse than what you expect.' They all nodded.

Bombadil got to the front door. He noticed something strange. Two ponies were strapped to the old oak tree by rope. He looked at Frodo. Frodo looked worried. Bombadil gesticulated for everyone to remain where they were as he walked forward. He came to the old oak and stopped suddenly. He slowly stepped with caution, around the Oak to find two Halflings lying there 'Argh!' he yelled. Everyone was startled by this but stood their ground. Bombadil picked up the two halflings and flung one over each shoulder. They were limp.

Frodo looked down at the ground, for he feared a sight to awful for words, at the way Bombadil had yelled.

Bombadil ran towards the house and everyone ran back in with him, except for Elthara, who had asked Nienna and Marawen to remain there with her.

Bombadil dropped the halflings upon the couch and realised that they were cold. 'Firewood!' he yelled, 'Quickly!' Frodo dropped his bag and walking stick and ran to get the firewood. His mind was blank. He had no idea who it was Bombadil had brought into the house, he dared not look. His mind was blank and he ran aimlessley. Elthara looked worried as she saw Frodo run so fast for a reason she could not be sure of.

Frodo reached the forest and gathered together as much of the wood as would fit in his arms. He panted heavily. All of a sudden, a searing pain shot through him. This time, it was not at his shoulder where the scar lay, but at his leg. He looked down and dropped the wood. He noticed that a black cloaked figure was behind him. He ran and ran but it was too late. The pain in his leg had caused him to fall. As he took a quick galnce down, he noticed that blood spat from a deep wound. Everyting went hazy. The last thing Frodo could see was the hooded figure, in a haze, lean over him in a malicious manner. He tried to get up but couldn't. Everything went black and he lay helplessley and alone.

(no one is, but great post Frodo! :))

Merry and Pippin sighed when the knock was not answered and Pippin suggested,
"Why don't we wait by the ponies until morning. It is quite late." Merry sighed.
"Yes, for once you are right, Pip. Well, I hope we did not wake the old fellow." They both walked over quietly and laid against the oak tree where the ponies stood. They where quite tired from the long journey there and quickly, without thinking of the cold night, both fell asleep. But, unfortunately for the poor hobbits, that night, darkness chilled the nightly breeze and rain had fallen as the midst came in like small clouds and surrounded the forest and old Tom's house. Both hobbits had caught a cold chill and there bodies started to freeze like a flower caught in a meadow with winter approaching. Neither awoke as the sun came up, but it was covered by dark clouds as the rain had stopped. Both Pippin and Merry where cold and there bodies almost blue when lucky old Tom spotted their ponies, whom where fine. They did not awaken still even as they where carried into the house and they heard nothing, and their breathes ccame in gasps and loud, harsh coughing could be heard from time to time. It looked dark for both of them.
