Tinuviel's Tears wrote: I love Gandalf, as I do all LOTR characters. He actually has a pretty close relationship with Frodo (my favorite character), which I think a lot of people overlook. It's very sweet though. Almost like a grandfather and grandson. I love the scene in FOTR when he and Gandalf are in the carrt together. Golden, that's what that scene is.
Quite Golden Indeed! I love that part too.

Seems you had fun. I don't really have friends in school who like LotR really that much that they would do those things with me I have one friend (Fiachra is her nick in a-u) who does (at least I think) care about LotR as much as I do.

It's always nice to have one of those. A friend who loves LOTR as much as you do. I have one who loves LOTR a whole lot. I should get her to join A-U. I don't think she'd do it though. And even if my friends don't love LOTR as much as me, most of them do like it, and they bear with me when I frak out about it.

I read a book about LotR, and it said: Elros was the borther of Elrond, and they were children of an Elf-Human union, and, being so, had to choose irrevocably to be Human or Elven. Elros chose the latter and Elrond the former. Shouldn't it be the other way round?

As far as I know, it should. Elrond became Elven and Elros became Human. It was probably some kind of typo or bad editing. Or, it could just be one of those stupid and innaccurate books about LOTR. There are a lot of those out thtere, and it's sort of amazing how much those people get wrong!

Yup Elros became human and started the Numenorian line. Aragorn is Elrond's great great great x5/6/7? nephew.
I really like Elrond and his sons. I don't know why, don't ask I've developed an attachment over the years thanks to fanfiction and my slight Hugo Weaving obsession hehe.

I think Elladan and Elrohir are often overlooked, since we don't hear much about them in the books, and their chracters are completely skipped over in the movies. It's a shame, because I bet they're really interesting characters and I'd like to know more about them. Are there any books out there that mention them in more detail? Does anyone know?

I don't think there are. I probably like them because of fanfiction and their father. Seige of Angmar by Cassia and Siobhan is I think my favorite fan fiction with them in so far.
I was so annoyed when they left them out in the movies -_-''

I don't read a lot of fanfiction because I find that a majority of it appalls me, but I guess it would be ok in this case. It would be more of people fillig in the balnks that Tolkien left about them than them changing a story around.
It was kind of disppointing not to see them in the films. I wonder who they would've gotten to play them? That'd be interesting to see.

Yes, the only twin actors I can think of are the guys in the matrix. Most fanfiction annoys me too, the lack of spelling, grammar and respect for Tolkien, but The Mellon Chronicles by Cassia and Siobhan are very well written hehe I would suggest them if anything fan fiction wise. Though they mostly center around Legolas and Aragorn.

Elros and Elladan are after all, sons of Elrond! I was really glad to get to know two new characters when I read the book, because they're not in the movies. I think it's stupid, they could've been at least in the coronation of Aragorn. or maybe they were there, but they had no lines and so we cant be 100% sure if they are them. I'm going to watch RotK today, I'll look out for two same looking elves somewhere near Elrond.. I'll tell you guys if I notice anything, though I think not. but we can always imagine some of them being the twins

Erm... actually, Elros is the brother of Elrond. Elrohir and Elladan are the sons of Elrond. But don't worry about it. We alll make mistakes now and then, and I've made far worse than that before.
That's a good idea to look for them. While I'm sure that some LOTR fanatic or another would have noticed them by now, it's possible that they haven't. I'll have to look next time as well.
