Elizabeth looked over at Ehafel and a crooked smile crossed her lips. "How do you fancy a little spying mission? I believe one of my...competition has been making deals with more than one mage. Trying to influence things to his favour. I must know if it is true" she opened up a drawer on her desk and brought out an A4 size portfolio. "Inside here are all the details. Contact me when you have confirmation. Any questions?"

Sophia felt the wound knit back together. She slowly opened her eyes and saw the one known as Daeron standing beside her. "You're still here?" she asked curiously "I thought you'd be long gone."

"No, wanted to make sure you were fine before I left..." He said in all seriousness, shrugging his shoulders and continued to look at the intricut lines in the ceiling, crisscrossing this way and that, never forming a perfect pattern

Sophia stood up and eyed him suspiciously "I'm fine, I can take care of myself." she dusted off her mahogany top and her black pants. "But I appreciate the concern. It's rare to see that there are still actual gentleman in this day and age"

"I figured you could, but it was a question all the same" He smiled as she stood, turning his face now from the ceiling to her own, pushing himself off the wall of the tunnel.

"I was born long ago when ever man was a gentleman..." He shrugged as if that explained everythign

"Well, let's just say I haven't came across very many gentlemen in my long lifetime. Even when I was younger" she turned her face to Daeron "Many have died at my hands thinking I they could have me"

"No worries my lady, I am not here to woe you, but I amuse me, how am I doing." His smiled showed that he was merely joking but he held out his slender hand to her.

"You have my name but I know not yours?"

Wordlessly Ehafel snatched the portfolio and stood. He bowed, then stalked out of the room.

His own private chamber was on the second story. Nothing auspicious, just a bed and blood-red walls he'd had painted to his fancy. On the desk stood a TV and a laptop computer. A floorboard creaked as he strode across it - the same floorboard that held his secret stash of arsenal including an AK-47.

The only hallmark in the room that even hinted of wealth was a huge window set in one wall, affording a panoramic view of LA nightlife. Ehafel grabbed himself a wine bottle off the wine rack, reclined on a seat next to the window, and opened the portfolio.

Sophia looked at his hand, and brought her eyes up to his. He smiled warmly at her. He seemed genuine enough so she took his hand "My name is Sophia"

"Well met Sophia..." He shook her hand and placed his back into his coat pocket, but not before brushing errant strand of dark hair out of his face, no matter how hard he tried he coudl never get all of his hair back in a ponytail.

"So where are you headed, if you don't mind me asking" Sophia said curiously before bending down and picking up her jacket she had dropped on the ground earlier. She looked at it and frowned again, she had no choice but to put it back on. Her Katana scabbard needed to remain hidden if she was to go back out into the public domain.

"No where in particular really. I was going home but there is a few more hours till Sunrise and I am sure Jocelyn will be fine without me..." He made a wild gesture with his hands in the general direction of his home.

"I was doing my own recon. I am looking for someone." Sophia replied with a sigh. "I did not realise how long I had been down here for, so I ended up trapped until the sun set. I feel rather foolish the truth be told"

"Don't be, happens to me all the time. Sometimes you lose track of your thoughts and time... Would I know of this someone you are looking for?" He asked shifting his balance from one foot to the other.

"I do not know." she sighed again, thinking over it. She pulled out a long golden necklace with a small pendant on it. She unclipped it to reveal a small, grainy black and white photograph. "Her name is Inara. After the war we were seperated. I do not know if she is alive or dust"

Sophia snapped the pendant closed and put the chain back inside her top.
"If she is alive, she is the key to my freedom. I do not wish to work for a human any longer" her voice was soft, almost vulnerable.

"Well the price is fine for me, I'm only staying two weeks. Is that were you live?" he asked, using his finger to indicate the building.
The roads still seemed very busy, car fumes drifted up into the sky. The man moved his leg, getting into a more comfortable standing position. His hand came back up to his lips, as he inhaled more smoke from the cigarette. He noticed the woman watching it.
"If you wan't, I'll put the cigarette out, if it bothers you," he said kindly.

The man flicked ash from the tip of the cigarette, his pale hand tapping it gently.
"I'm Jerome, it's nice to meet you Jocelyn" he said introducing himself.
The mans hair blew out into the gentle wind, forcing him to use his free hand to brush his hair back. Jerome looked at his watch, it was turned midnight, he had not known that it was that late.

Daeron leaned forward to look at the small picutre within the pendent. It was a little grainy but his eyes percieved the picture well. Unfortunetly he did not remember her face.

"I am sorry I do not know her. But I will help you find her..." He offered backing away once more when she shut the pendent, moving his eyes to hers, his filling with curiosity.

"You work for a human? Why..."

"I do live there, with my sire. Though I wish I wasn't" She said softly almost with a tinge of regret for what had happened to her in the past. Her eyes moved from his to where he was looking over the building and the busy streets of L.A.

"No there is no need, in fact the smoke reminds me of home..." Her father used to smoke cigars occasionally when immersed in his work and she found herself remembering those days when she had a family.

"Nice to meet you as well Jerome... are you late for something?" She asked noticing the man looking at his watch.
