^That's true, one of the funniest ones is the following: at least here in Florida, and i think a lot of the states, when a female sleeps over another females friend house, they never mind sharing a bed! But if a male were to share a bed with another male, it would be considered gay.

Same thing if a girl likes to dress as a guy, she's just a tomboy, but if a guy enjoyed dressing as a girl, again: gay.

If that was too innapropriate moddies, i suppose you can take it off. But it doesnt say much.

Hm, that's interesting. :D Thanks for commenting. Of course, one notices that the books you mentioned with a female lead are certainly nowhere near as popular as HP & the like.

Shows what the masses know doesn't it. I personally think that both those series are much better than HP. Surely you AU'ers can appreciate that the masses are often wrong on several counts :P

That's another interesting point RA. Ya know, I've been thinking about this lately; we live in such a sexist world. I mean, who says girls can't play the same sports guys to just as well, if not better? Or who says guys can't take ballet? I just don't understand it. *shakes head*

Not nearly as sexist as it was!!!

And when it comes to sport, I know that girls are just as good, and often better, than guys. In my age group at the local cricket club our best player always was a girl. And she was very good. In fact, she plays at county standard. She is in the Middlesex team now(not sure it that is an age group, or the actual ladies team)! And playing at that level is something I can only dream of.

And on the matter of boys doing ballet, nothing says they can't. For many it is just the fear that their friends won't respect them if they find out :(

True...

But we have to remember that there are differences in males and females. We're physically built in different ways, for instance, which explains why men don't compete in the balance beam in the Olympics, and why girls don't do the parrallel bars. But we're also emotionally designed differently. I really don't think it's right to try and make each other the same. Sure, we're made equal, but nonetheless, extremely different.

Much agreed Gwen! I agree that our world is very sexist, but sometimes in the quest to make the sexes equal people try to make them the same. And we are nowhere near the same! :D There are these wonderful little things called estrogen and testosterone... ;)

Personally, I would not say either of those are 'wonderful'. Speaking from experience, testosterone drives us fellas to do idoitic things. (It seems to involve either fighting someone, or doing something silly trying to impress the opposite gender [I try and resist urges like that :P])
And from what I hear, those hormones don't do you lasses any favours either :P

Ha. Noooo, they don't. ('Wonderful' was sarcastic, I had hoped people would catch that.) Hormones are my sworn enemy. :P Estrogen wants us to do stupid things to impress guys too, like endless flirting. Around puberty, most girls seem to lose most intelligence, too, because it's easier to flirt if you act stupid. I mourn for my peers. :(
And then, we also get the every-three-seconds-mood changes. :annoyed: But I think I'll stop ranting now, I'm going to get myself all worked up... :P

Oh, yeah, I definitely NEVER flirt. But it's terribly annoying because you have this urge too, an you have to fight it off. *shrugs* So, if I'm comfortable around the guy, then I'll just act like myself & have fun. But most guys I just avoid, and that's because...well, you don't know the guys at my high school.

Don't worry, I caught it :P Just didn't make it apparent that I'd noticed in my post :P

And I don't flirt either. And if I'm quite frank, if someone started openly flirting with me, I'd a)be put off and b) probably run a mile!

And whenever I'm around guys I suddenly tense up, loose my voice, and try and be anyone but myself. I hate that about my relations towards guys; I always feel driven to be something I'm not, whether that be quiet, giggly, or extremely outgoing.

It took me a while but I realized that I hardly get anywhere from flirting so I stopped doing that. I was beginning to regret it deeply. But if someone actually did flirt with me, I would politely refuse her advances.

I agree.

and something very weird happened at our last football game.

there is this boy, we'll call him James, and his girlfriend, EX girlfriend my B, we'll call her Kelley, broke up that day. i sit next to James in 3rd block and he talks to me in that block almost as much as he talks to Kelley. a few times Kelley has gotten mad and told James not to talk to me. anywho, i didn't get invited to Kelley's birthday party, but James was going to be there. the football game was the same day, and i went to the game.

and once there i was shocked to see James walking around with Jerrad, Ben, and Colby. James should have been and Kelley's birthday party, right?

i was standing around talking to some of my friends when James walked by, all my friends called out and said "Hey", and he didn't say anything, but when i said "Hey" a little late he turned around and walked straight to me and said,
"Kelley and i broke up."

this has me very confused. why did he only say anything to me when everyone said hey? and why did he tell me he and Kelley broke up? i would have found out anyway... when i told my mom what happened she said that James liked me, which is hard for me to believe since James is like my best guy friend! also my mom said that because James talks to me 3rd block Kelley didn't invite me to her party.

i just need help with the whole thing, my brain hurts from just typing all this out!
