As far as I know, Denethor is not very loving to Faramir in the books, but I do think that PJ exaggerated. I'm too lazy at the moment to get up and check my books.

It was exagerated somewhat in the movies, but it's dead obvious in the books that Denethor loved Boromir so much more.
Count me in... I wuv Eowyn x Faramir....

I still don't really get why Denethor hates Faramir! I don't think he really hates Faramir in the books. *running off to reread TRotK*

Hmm..They did a different portrayal for Denethor in the movie rather than the books. I only read ROTK about..4 months ago. I can't exaclty remember if he hated Faramir as much as he does in the movies.
