I want to get PS for my comp, but I don't know which version to buy. Is there a version that is better than the others? If so, please tell me so I can look it up and see how much to pay for it.

Thanks,
Aramel

Photoshop cs2 is the latest version. So I'd definitly encourage you to get that one. (photoshop is really very expensive too)

Well, it doesn't really matter which version you have. Most people use 7.0 - I use that and CS2. I usually prefer the older version - smaller program, quicker etc. On the other side, the new stuff in cs2 rocks. But they're pretty much the same (except for a coupla filters, that is)
Don't buy PS from the main site though. Try ebay or amazon.

What about Jasc Paint Shop Pro? I've heard about that one, but I want to know more before I actually step up and buy one of these software products...

I started out with PSP (it's Corel now..) and in contrast with what other people say I found it harder than PS. Still, it's waay cheaper (Arwen uses it, JF uses it, Queen of the Stars uses it..) and pretty popular
newest: psp x

PSP is good, but really I definitely prefer PS. I have Photoshop CS2 and it works awesome, but I have never used any other version :P
