Aragorn looked with slight aversion and shame to the Ring which the Halfling, Frodo, had brought forward. So this was the One Ring? The Ring that had corrupted Isildur, of his blood, his kin, when he had the chance to destroy evil forever. Silently he listened to the murmer of the other members of the council as they beheld the Ring, waiting for Lord Elrond to continue.

Pippin was hidden in the shadows, unseen, yet he could hear nothing of what was happening. He looked over at Merry, but could not see him. "Merry?" He whispered quietly, so they wouldn't be caught, but there was no reply.

Gandalf looked around at the group, expressions all different; the dwarves looked confused, the Elves and Aragorn both remembering and evaluating, but the rest of the men looked in awe and in worry of the Ring. He sighed and looked over at Elrond, who spoke finally.
"For those who do not know,this is the One Ring, the ring that Sauron the deciever created. The Ring that was taken from him by the hand of Isilduir, then by Gollom and then by young Mr. Bilbo Baggins. Now, it has been passed down to Mr. Frodo. The Ring must be destoyed."

For a moment Aragorn grimaced as he heard the name of his ancestor, yet he made sure his emotions remained hidden for others. Only Lord Elrond knew what this meant for him. And Aragorn knew what had to be done, for this Ring couldn't be destroyed by the crafts of the Elves in Rivendell. But he remained silent, watching the others closely.

Gandalf looked around and noticed Aragorn sudden chill but he ignored it as he looked at Elrond, who waited for suggestions of anyone on how it should be destroyed.

(kinda like the movie, when gimli tries to destroy it, ya know...)

Legolas was just sitting in his chair, waiting calm and in silence. He watched the others sitting in the council, all with their own thoughts and ideas about this little thing. He saw the man called Aragorn making an ashamed face, but decided to ignore it. Then he saw some movement in the group of Dwarves, like they were going to say something or make a sudden move. For himself, he decided to just sit and wait for the others to start talking and acting again...

Gandalf looked at Boromir and saw the gleam in his eyes as he thoguht he heard someone calling someone elses name. But he dismissed it since no one else knew of the meeting except for those there.

Pippin continued to watch as they did nothing. Odd. He thought as Gandalf looked around. He barely breathed as he ducked around the corner but when he dared peek over he let out a sigh of relief when Gandalf was looking at another man who was staring intently at the ring.

Gimli glanced around the circle of faces. No one seemed to be making any brilliant suggestions on just how it should be destroyed. "Destroyed, you say?" he got to his feet, taking his axe. "What are we waiting for?" He stepped to the pedestal and swung his axe at the Ring with all his strength.
Next thing he knew, he was laying on his back, dazed. His axe was in pieces around him.

"Pippin!" Merry whispered, "Hold still!" He ducked a bit lower behind the bushes he and his friend had decided to spy from.

Gandalf was about to try and stop the drawf but he just turned away for he already knew the outcome. He sighed as Elrond looked at Gimli, who was lying on the ground with all the drawves swarming around him. "The One Ring cannot be destoyed so easily, Gloin's son, Gimli." Elrond said and contiuned, "It can only be destoyed in the place it was created; Mouth Doom. The reason you where are called here is simple: For the ring must be destroyed and someone here...one of you, must do this."

Pippin glanced over at Merry and said, "I can barely hear anything!"

With the other dwarves' help, Gimli got to his feet and moved back to his chair, shaking his head to try to clear it.

"They'll see us!" Merry whispered back urgently.

Elrond sighed and waited for volunteers, for he did not want to choose for them. Gandalf also waited for someone to speak up. He hoped someone would soon, for the emeny grew stronger at every mintures waste.

Pippin sighed. "Okay, okay...I'll move back a little."
