All the way from camp, a gun shot could be heard being fired. Shade threw her books in her bag and grabbed a walkie-talkie and turned it on quickly, asking, "Sparrow, Hunter, this is Falcon? Where are your postions? Do you copy? Over."

Erin groped for her radio. "Falcon, this is Sparrow. I'm doing a round of the camp, currently positioned north-northwest. I've tried to reach Hunter, but he's not answering. Over."

"Negative. I think it was Hunter. What's your position? Do you think we should try and locate him?" Erin replied, still scanning the jungle. It seemed still and she hadn't heard much else.

"My location is still at the camp. Stay where you are and I'll meet you there. Over." Shade got ready by getting her pistols and putting her shoes back on, then she grabbed an extra flahslight and ran towards where Erin said she was.

As soon as Andy heard the gunshot, he grabbed up his sniping rifle, slung it over his shoulder, and grabbed up his Desert Eagle Magnum. Grabbing the walkie talkie in the other hand, he said to it, "Sparrow, what was the last thing you heard from him? Are you sure it was Hunter who fired the gun? Over."
All Andy could hear over the omnious silence was a faint static.
He ran with shade and said, "turn that flashlight off. If we're going to prepare for the worst, we'd better be able to see."

After a delay came Erin's breathless reply: "Apologies, I tripped. I heard Hunter say 'Sparrow' and then something that sounded like 'don't'. No, I'm not sure. Over."

She turned and caught sight of what she'd tripped over. It looked like a spear, sticking awkwardly low in a tree trunk. She frowned. A spear? Where from?

Shade ran quickly, leaving Andy almost in the dust as she leaped over a huge tree limb. "Hurry!" She called back to him and then she found Erin. "Erin!"

"Shade!" said Erin, relieved. "Have you got that flashlight? Is Andy with you?" She pulled the spear out of the trunk carefully and held it up. "Look, isn't that odd?"

"Here..." She said, handing her a flashlight. "I have two...and yes...very odd..." She took the spear and exzamined it. "It looks so old..."

Erin ran her finger up to the blade and gave a little gasp. Her finger came away cut cleanly, as if by a sharp modern knife. "I don't think so," she said grimly. "This smacks of something I don't like at all."

Andy didn't reply, he was circling around the two. He climbed up above to a tree branch, makign sure it will support his weight, he remained silent, above the two women, alert for any intruders around them, although, in this blasted night, and with those two shining the flashlights about, he couldn't see much of anything. He put on night vision goggles and took another scan. He saw some dim figures in the distance in green (night vision effects), and two almost invisible figures coming toward to two women.

Andy took out the sniper rifle, assembled it in record time with his adrenaline up so high, and took aim. if the figures approach at more than a walk, he would shoot.

This is what he'd been employed in, and he was good at it. At this relatively close range for the rifle, Andy could shoot both the figures in no time.

mean while, he whispered to the two women, "i'm up here, ignore me, there's people coming"

Wolfe's radio crackled again, and he tried to say something, but he was once more interrupted by a hard slug in the face. Tasting blood, he swore and kicked, his foot connecting with his enemy's crotch. He was afforded two milliseconds of relief, during which he endeavored a desperate dive for his M16 lying a few feet away.

He never made it, as another native stepped in front of him, spear raised. He backed away, a look of defeat on his face.

The native advanced.

In one fluid motion, Wolfe whipped out a stun grenade and hurled it right at the native's ugly face. Again, he tucked himself into a ball, squeezing his eyes shut. A detonation of blinding light, courtesy of the grenade, filled the general vicinity.
