Evlyn aswered the message I can't, i'm stuck on the ground half paralysed and my dragon is partly blind, he can't fly as the Renagdes have done something to his wing. They are still near us i think.

Merrin shivered against the biting wind and sat miserably as Demon flew - she couldn't think of a viable way out of this one. She tried halfheartedly to contact Wyvern but their telepathic link had never been very strong and he was too far away. Stupid, stupid, stupid... she berated herself angrily, trying to stop her teeth chattering. Of all the idiotic things to do!

Upon receiving the message, Demon circled back and landed before Evlyn and her dragon. He gestured for Evlyn to mount Demon. Then he reached into a saddlebag and produced a fine length of adamantine chain. He tied the chain around Jemx's neck to guide the partly blinded wyrm.

Merrin felt a surge of worry for the injured dragon and was instantly annoyed with herself. Her eyes followed Evlyn curiously - these Meiltha were very different from the rebels.

Femi shook her head, "Nothing." She dipped down and drew level with Shade. "Shall we brave them and risk our lives, or flee and never know?" She asked, still watching the approaching dragons. There were three, Femi could see that clearly now.

Femi had been expecting an answer like that; she followed him down as they drew closer to the dragons. She felt relieved that she wasn't totally alone to face what could potentially be a life threatening situation.

Evlyn nodded curtly, ashamed at haveing to accept help. But took her seat amiably enough. Jemx snarled behind her. "Oh shut up Jemx"
"I can't fly you b***"
"Then you can be pulled, flap you're wings you great lump." behind her a burst of flame was issued, but nothing else.

Merrin listened to this, quite bewildered. If Wyvern was hurt she would have been too concerned to even suggest that he fly - yet here this rider was, practically forcing her own to follow when he was wounded. She wondered if all Meiltha treated their dragons in such a way, and felt another pang of loss. She felt almost naked without Wyvern's silver form under her.

Kendath blindfolded Merrin as Evlyn mounted. Demon growled at the added weight but refrained from protesting. He spread his wings, lifting up once more into the night. The going was slower, as he had to guide Jemx. Even so, they made it to their hideout in half an hour.

Demon descended at a sheer cliff face. Kendath dismounted. Walking over to the cliff, he ran his hands along the stone. Then, on a specific area that looked exactly like the rest of the cliff, he traced a rune. The rune outlined itself in flame, and huge gate in the cliff face swung silently open.

Merrin fought back unreasoning fear and clung to Demon despite her dislike for him, feeling a completely new fear of heights brought on by her inability to see where they were going. She relaxed very slightly after they landed.

Torches flared on either side of the vast tunnel. Kendath led Demon and Jemx inside. As the great doors grated shut behind them, he removed Merrin's blindfold.

Merrin swallowed and looked around, fighting down panic again. Wyvern! she called desperately, but he was too far away. She gazed down at the ground and told herself that she was not going to cry in front of them - it could wait, it could.

Kalma landed nearby the hideout entrance and fixed his cold eyes upon it pondering the best way to approach should there not be more dragons on the way, which he clearly doubted. He snarled and creeped unseen towards the entrance, he tried the wall with his claws and then budged at the door quietly trying to determine it`s strength to hold him off.

With magic it wouldn`t be much of a problem to break it nor with physical strength yet he prefered to be enter unnoticed to spy upon this dragon.

Yira mounted Sorac as he rose off the ground, and soon above the trees. Looking for any sign of life, they soon spotted the ones that they were following. Looking down upon them, Sorac hovered above and let out another flame of icy hot fire, to remind their enemy that they were being watched - by a dangerous foe.
