A slightly sinister intent hung in the air. It was dawn, but the forest was still dark and quiet and would remain so for at least another half hour - besides a group of elves and humans just inside the Mirkwood Palace's main gates. Four of them stood with horses and had the appearance of departing almost immediately, while the fifth appeared to be seeing them off and worrying enough for all five put together.

"Atalante, I promise you, if anything happens we'll return immediately," Meleth was saying to the small, slight human girl. "I promise. Stop worrying, we're all going to be fine - aren't we?" she added, looking at the others for support.

Atalante still looked distressed. "It doesn't feel right - we haven't heard from Aramel or Locien in too long, and what if there really is some evil beginning again in Dol Guldur?"

Manwawen wandered into were the group was, and walked up to Atlante and put her hands on her shoulders.
"It's alright. They'll be fine," came the voice that sounded of flowing rivers,"I've met Locien once or twice... but the 'state' he's in, I doudt anything too bad happened too him."

Atalante looked up at her, deep brown eyes troubled. "I know...but it doesn't feel right, somehow," she repeated, looking unhappy.

Meleth smiled encouragingly at her. "I assure you, nothing will happen, Ata." She looked at the others. "I suppose we should get moving. You should be seeing the horses either tomorrow or tonight," she added to Manwawen and Atalante, "we'll send them back once we get closer."
