Yay! I feel better now that I know I'm not the only OCD writer
I've been writing (in some sense or another) this fanfic for almost 3 months now, and I'm only halfway through the prologue.

Yeah, take your time. No need to rush something until it's as perfect as you want it to be.

I plan to
Currently I've just been so busy that I pretty much only have time to write on the weekends, and even then I don't get much done. I'm also supposed to be doing something for Creative Writing Club at my school, but I've been suffering from writer's block.

this is the prolouge of my story, its still in the beginning stages, adn i haven't finalised anything.
In the beginning, there was only darkness. The Cosmic Body was empty and silent. It lay that was for countless millennia until, the Dra’gon appeared. It lay silent on the Cosmic Body for another countless millennia. Life slowly seeped into it, limbs twitched, organs quavered into life and soon, It had awoken. It’s huge body was as dark as dark could be. It’s eyes, flashed white and tooth and claw glittered silver.
Blood pumped through its veins, coursing with the ability to give life, at the expense of the bearer. It rose, on all fours, stretching and for the first time sound was heard in the Cosmic Body. A great roar. A magnificent roar, greater than a lion’s roar after a kill, more guttural than a crocodile’s. Yet, it had sweet undertones to it, the sweetest sound of a mother bird, and the cooing of a morning dove. It also had the jester side. The braying of a zebra and the laugh of a hyena. It had a fearsome side as well, the roar of pain from a dying golem and the terrifying scream of a mother Ampithere.
Essentially, that roar created the worlds and everything in them. From the smallest plankton to the greatest Dra’gon. The great Dra’gon, not knowing what it was doing, has signed its own death sentence. By creating so much in so short a time, the Dra’gon died. Lands grew and prospered and animals evolved.
Eventually a new species came along. Possibly the greatest species that has ever lived on Jtscal. They were strong and smart. Witty enough to learn to hunt and grow things. They soon became the ruling species of Jtscal; they governed with a fair claw and a just mind. But soon, humans came along and decided to massacre half of them. Humans, being what they are, took up the rule of Jtscal, plunging half of it into warfare and the other half into plague and famine.
Dra’gons, angered by what was happening to their once great world, staged an all out war against them. They won, for a short time. Then when civil war had broken out between warring clans the Dra’gons plunged back into darkness and humans took the rule once again.
Soon, kingdoms grew and armies were needed. The ancient Dra’gons agreed to fight. Some kingdoms fought along side the Dra’gons, while others used the Dra’gons as machines of war, treating them cruelly and often beating them to death.
Soon, the wars came to an end, Dra’gons became rare and Dra’gon Knights were created. Humans scavenged Dra’gon spirits off of battlefields and kept them in safe places. Once released the Dra’gon spirits would take a form, and would serve the knight for all eternity.
In the history of Jtscal there have only been fourteen recorded Lady Knights, and only five Lady Knights that managed to become Lady Dra’gon Knights. What you are about to read, is not only a pivotal point in Jtscal’s history, but also a very important event in the history of the Cosmic Body.
and yes, Dragn is supposed to have the comma in the middle...its my way of writing them and distunguishing them from other Dragon stories

Of course you may join! Welcome fellow writer!
And good work Dark. I liked the part where you were describing the dragon roar. I could almost hear it the way you put it.

WOW DARK!!! What a prologue!!! Are you going to write more?
May I PLEASE join this great club? I was looking in the clubs section and saying to myself, "I wish there was a writer's club!" And lo and behold... here it is!!

Hey Snowbird! Welcome.
Does anyone here like to write quotes from themselves. It kind of sounds lame but I love to think of quotes and short phrases and stuff like that. I don't know. I was just wondering?

I do that, too!! And then try to work them into my story; but then the story goes *flop*. Not fun.

I do that all of the time. Nothing ever comes of it, but I love it all the same.

Yes! And quotes from people around me too. Sometimes I start with a random thing someone would say and I construct a story around it.
Question: has anyone ever thought of a cool-sounding title and then made up a story to fit it?

I do that a lot! Usually I write the stories and then the title just falls into place, but sometimes this really cool title just pops into my head and I start writing.

Yes, usually I do that too, but every so often it's fun to think of the title first!
