Legolas was still waiting. He knew he wasn't the one who should destroy the Ring, he was only send here by his father with new for the council, and perhaps to help Elrond with some things. He was a little bit shocked by the sudden action of the Dwarf, but than the peace returned to the council, and there was again a feeling of waiting.
A few times he thought he heard some sounds or movements behind him, but he thought that it should be the wind or something...

Gandalf stood and said, just as Boromir was about to grab the ring, "Stand your ground, Boromir, son of Denothor! Your hands do not need to touch the One Ring! Not unless you would like to do the honors in taking it to Mordor?" Boromir sat down, shaken, and Gandalf did the same.

Pippin jumped in surprise as Gandalf's loud voice boomed, filling the valley. He fell ontop of Merry and then he froze as Gandalf grew quiet. He finally drew breath as Elrond spoke,

"Thank you..." He said to Gandalf, but not very kindly. He sighed and rubbed his head, worried about who he would have to choose if no one volunteered to take the ring.
