I like Legolas, but not at all in the fangirl way, and he's not my favorite. He's a good friend, a good warrior, a good elf... he's a good character. I like him because of that.

This is not saying I do not agree that he's good-looking. He is. But I hardly ever think or care about that. It's not important.

And yes, I like Orlando Bloom. Not because he's "hot;" because he's talented. I like watching him get better and better at acting. And also, I think he is a nice person - or at least, nicer than many celebrities. Of course, not the kind of person that I would really want to be really good friends with. But I've heard him get inappropriate far less than the others, and he's always so funny, enthusiastic, and sunny about everything. And... it's making me sad because he's been getting less and less so as the world of Hollywood drags him down.

But he did well with Legolas. Yes, Legolas had a few dumb lines, but that wasn't Orlando's fault. Legolas is just a good character, and I like him. I'm not going to let the fangirls influence me one way or another, nor anyone else.

Good answer Altariel Frodo You know, in a way, girls or fangirls who say: "I consider Legolas to be so hot" might be thinking in terms of Orlando Bloom, you see what I mean. Each of us, having read the book and not having seen the films, might have an image of Legolas completely different from others...but, some people, when thinking about Legolas, do think about Orlando (which I admire a lot anyway) and sometimes that's their reason for Legolas to be hotter than any other character in the film

On the poll I picked a good warrior, because he is totally awesome when he is fighting. I do not believe he is girly or anything like that. I mean that is what (I think) elves are supposed to look like.

He is definately my favorite character in the movie. But do not fear! I am not a fangirl. (though I do have a poster in my room of Orlando Bloom ) I think that he is an awesome character, and exactly what I imagined him to look like.

Legolas is also a really good friend, and all that other stuff. Yes, he is good looking, but I don't really pay attention to that. Okay maybe a tiny bit. But, yeah, he just is an awesome character!

So, basically what this all means is I agree with you, Altariel Frodo.

Tolkien never mentioned was Legolas hot or not. but certainly he was a good warrior and a good friend He's of a quiet type and he thinks and senses more than he speaks. and he likes to listen to other people. just like me. maybe that's why I like Legolas so much, because I can relate to him.

well it would be kinda strange if Tolkien told us that Legolas was hot...(scary...) but yes, he did demonstrate (or rather PJ) that he was a loyal and wonderful friend, and at the same time he was a excellent warrior!!!! (heart beating...ahhh...) but that is what makes him a kind and lovable elf!!! he has put in a good word for all elves in the world (even though some elves are ugly!!!)

I voted for a great warrior. I am going by the book but if it is about the movies then my vote would be a great warrior, wonderful friend and yes I haven't forgotten, very hot.

and especially because he and Gimli are friends, which is very uncommon.

That's true. Before that, Elves and Dwarves never got along right? So yeah, it was really uncommon to see them become friends or even be side-by-side with each other. It's just great to see that Gimli and Legolas are such wonderful friends in the book and also in the movie. ^^

I love all the scenes where the two of them are riding to war.. or riding anywhere.. it looks so comical, a dwarf on horseback - with an elf!
