Larael, you have a good point. It used to be that the roles were clearly cut: women = house. men = work. But nowadays you see many more Mr. Moms and dads helping out with the housecleaning as well. You also see far more husbands being ordered around by their wives, instead of the other way around as it was a hundred years ago.

Telpeath, take a look at this: http://www.sss.gov/FSconsobj.htm
Personally, I would prefer to go and fight rather than let the enemy win. But I certainly understand not wanting to kill people. I think it's sort of a lesser-of-two evils thing, and that depends on your perspective.
I'd say something about which gender's lifes are harder, but I'm not really sure. Never having been a girl, I can't really give a fair comparison. I think both genders seem fairly well prepared to deal with most of the hardships they go through.

Quite honestly it is hard to give a true decision on whose life is "harder". None of us have experienced life as the opposite gender so we wouldn't have any idea what to expect nor how to deal with the situations that arise. I like what you said Pilgrim, about "both genders seem fairly well prepared to deal with most of the hardships they go through", as that seems to sum everything up. Girls have been going through many of the same struggles since the beginning of time, and so have the guys. Though we've had different struggles and hardships we have always found ways to overcome them.

So....all in all, we can agree that both genders have it rough? Perhaps we should find another subject to talk about?

Yes. New topic...we've probably been over this before, but...
when do you think it is appropriate to start dating?

^^^That was a very interesting document!!!
Well, to answer the above question, I dont believe in HS couples just because they arent really being tested. The real chalenges come in college. Personally, I dont think people are mature enough to have an relationship in HS just because they dont really know what love is.

I agree with you (though your school system is different to ours, so maybe ages would be more useful ) But I think that maybe the experience, however minimal, may be of use to people when the get older. First had experience of something is the best way to learn about it. Most young relationships don't last, but may give invaluable experience to them for future reference.

I don't know....I think like 18 is basically when people are really serious about their love and commitments.

If we're still talking about dating - it depends on one's maturity, not age, though it would be pretty strange to see a 12-years-old having a date. xD

^*le gasp* You changed your name!
Well...you'd be surprised how many 12 year olds worry about those things. Like my sister.
High school relationships seem a bit silly to me. Maybe if you're actually mature, and you're a junior or senior...*shrugs*
I think I'll wait til college, or, whenever I meet a guy who feels right. I shouldn't stress when I reach a certain age, settling for anyone to go out with, simply because I'm told I should.

lol! You noticed, yay!!
I agree, the whole going out with someone just so you can say you have a boyfriend/girlfreind, thats ridiculous! But unfortunately it happens quite often.
