Thanks Eariel. Yep, twas my birthday yesterday. That's why I wasn't able too come on very much. But it was fun.
Unfortunately I have not seen Happy Feet yet either. I'm hoping to go and see it Monday, but I don't know if that's going to happen.
I think it's cool that you're German too Forever. Maybe you don't have TV we have in America, but we don't have a lot of the things you have in Germany.
I think I was supposed to take Frodo to the birthday ball, but I was really busy that day and couldn't get on. It's pretty awesome that you're going with him Forever. Just the way you have it in your siggyis cute. It makes me smile.
I agree with the general consensus on our general need for a topic. About Frodo or Lij. Hmmm......
Maybe we could talk about the ways they're similar. Like, their personalities? Alright... it's a bad idea. But it's all I've got at the moment. Anyone else?

It feels like I haven't been here in a while
Happy Birthday TT! I'm sorry you haven't been able to see Happy Feet yet. But I promise you it will be worth your wait!
It's not a bad idea about the topic. I would post my thoughts on the similarities between them, but I'm running real low on time. Sorry.

(Belated) Happy Birthday TT!!! (I almost typed: How old are you now, until I remembered that you don't want to give out your exact age - sorry ) Hope you had a nice day!
Well, I once read that quote of Elijah: "Frodo, I think, will always be there, like my little shadow" and I thought it was cute. To think that there always a bit of Frodo's character in the back that will never leave him again....
Sorry, that wasn't exactly TT's topic, but it's 9 o'clock in the morning and I can't think

Aw, I like that quote. I never knew that he said that, but it still sort of applies to the topic. Like you said, it's like there will always be a part of Frodo in him. I also think it kind of implies that the fact that he played Frodo will follow him for the rest of his life, like a shadow. You can't get rid of it, everyone can see it, and it's a part of who you are. I think that might be a little bit what Lij feels like about having played Frodo.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes! You guys are so nice.
I think that's all for now. I have some major work to do, mainly rearranging my bookshelf with all the books I got for my birthday. I now have twelve books by Tolkien. So that's pretty exciting. Talk to you all later!

That's a cute quote. I think it will be his little shadow, because he portrayed a character so near and dear to millions of people, it will be hard for people to shake that image of him because of the spectacular job he did. He's done some great stuff of course after LOTR but that was the role that really made him successful and he doesn't seem to mind having Frodo as his "little shadow". People mostly first knew him by that role and until people stop loving LOTR, is when that image of Frodo and himself will be gone. (That of course will never happen )
12 books by Tolkien, that is impressive TT. Congrats!

^My congratulations as well, TT. Also, I agree with what people have said lately, and I too like that quote.
You're right, TT--talking about their similarities is a good topic idea. Personally, I think that a similar "white light" to what we see in Frodo is in the one who played him, too. Also, I don't think that delightful spunk of Frodo's belongs to him alone, if you take my meaning... (What I mean is, there's no denying he has it, but he's not the only one.)

Of course I know what you mean. I think you're right. The Elvish light and that certain...... otherwordly quality thta Frodo has, I think Elijah has them both too.
Frodo at the beginning of the story seems to have some correlations to the real life Lij. Frodo is cheerful, playful, dancing, funny. I think Liij comes off on the playful/comic side whenever we see him out of character.
Sort of off the topic, but I love how Elijah seems to have taken playing Frodo so seriously. In interviews and such, we can really see how deeply he's analyzed Frodo's character. I think that's one of the reasons he played Frodo so well. He actually got inside Frodo and became him.
Oh! And if things go as planned, I'm going to see Happy Feet today! Hooray!
Thanks for the congrats too everyone.

You're welcome! I hope you get to see Happy Feet, and i agree with what you said. I think Lij has a rather playful personality (at least, what we see of it--though he also has such deep, philosiphical thoughts ), and that is similar to how Frodo was in the beginning of FotR. For someone who hadn't read the trilogy, he played one of LotR's main characters pretty well! *sighs* lol...

^ I agree with everything!
I saw Happy Feet!!! It was amazing! Utterly adorable! I already posted about it in the Happy Feet thread. I'll see if I can copy and paste it. I don't think there were any spoliers, but I'll double check. Nope. Nothing spoilery. Read on.
Quote: EDIT: I saw it! It was so adorable! I liked it a lot. I thought it went very fast though. It seemed like there was one thing after another. It was great to hear Lij's voice coming out of a penguin. Hugo Weaving didn't sound at all like himself with a Scottish accent. I never would have guessed that that was him. But I really liked it. I'd definitely recommend it. Although, I think it may be a little difficult for some of the younger kids to understand. My four year old brother had trouble sitting through it. Great movie though. Penguins rule! <3
I think I was mildly attracted to that penguin (Mumble) because Lij's voice was coming out of it.
I'm hoping to get to see Bobby, but it's doubtful. Maybe when it comes out on video.
Have to go! Sorry! hugs for you all!

I told you it'd be worth your wait! It was just very precious if you ask me. Definately not a movie I'd actually want to get when it comes out on DVD.
I'll have to be clever about how I see Bobby. It's R rating won't help me with my parents either, but I"ll figure out something.

Good luck. I may have to wait till it comes out on dvd, so my mom can preview it. Not that i mind the previewing (well, maybe a little, though i know it's probably for the best ), but it does mean i'll have to wait, lol.
However, i may get to see Happy Feet tomorrow! I hope so. (My little sisters are coming, too--at least, the two youngest ones. I'm not sure if all of them are, though--by "all" I mean that i have four of them. No brothers. But that's beside the point. )
*reads TT's quote* Hugo Weaving with a Scottish accent? That sounds interesting... (Yet another reason to go see this. )

Hey Eariel! We've missed you and Forever over the past couple days. The club's been empty for awhile. I'm glad youre back. I hope Forever will post sometime today. I miss her.
I really hope you get to go and see Happy Feet! I think you'll like it, and your sisters too. Four sisters. Oi. And I thought it was bad having two little brothers. And yes, Scottish Hugo Weaving was quite strange.
So, has anyone heard anything about any movies Lij might be in the process of making? It just seems weird that bwe don't see him onscreen for so long and then he's got two movies out at the same time. I hope this means we'll be seeing more of him. Does anyone know though?

Girls, it's been such a long time! I missed you all, but school is somewhat overwhelming at the moment (not in a positive way, however)
I haven't seen Happy Feet yet, although it's in theatres here and there's also a cinema that shows the english version. But I couldn't even think of that, I'm soooo busy!
Plus, I still have to get all the Christmas present for my friends and family. Uh.
Anyway, have we got a new topic? I haven't been on A&F for...forever.
*leaves for A&F*

*does the same* *but in a different window *Comes back* ooh, go and check it out! On the latest update, there's a little interview (on youtube) with Elijah, concerning Happy Feet. It's cool.
Speaking of Happy Feet, I saw it today!!! 8o (Wasn't able to yesterday.) It was amazing! I loved it. Mumble looks so much like Elijah, and to hear his voice coming out of a penguin! Remember when we agreed a while back that Elijah's voice coming out of a penguin was the recipe for cute, TT? We were right. Oooh, I loved the 'pitiless' yet breathtaking granduer of the Antartic, and the scenes involving Heartsongs. (I hope that doesn't give anything away? ) Forever, I hope you get to see it soon! It's wonderful. Mumble's as sweet and kind as the one who played him. lol
Edit:Remember how Elijah was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel, but some of us weren't sure we'd be able to see it? Well, I found it (somewhat by accident ) on youtube! (Bless that site. ) I should warn you--it has a clip from the rotk easter egg (the Hans Jensen one), at least some of which is from the part of that 'interview', lol that i prefer to mute (meaning it doesn't seem very appropriate ), tho i agree that some of it is rather funny. But anyway, here's the link:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=htWaBKbBdf4
Also, we should start posting in the Frodo club again!

Thanks Eariel! I loved it! It was hysterical, and Lij looked Smashing as always. I'm going to have to go and check out that band if I can. They sound interesting. The Apples in Stereo I think they're called. And I love the Hans Jensen video. I must have wacthed it about a hundred times now. Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. I think I may have watched that Happy Feet interview you're talking about. Also, if you guys are interested, I now there's a video of he and Robin Williams on TRL to promote Happy Feet that's worth a watch. Lij projectile spits across the stage because he's laughing. Is it just me or does Elijah seem more.... sober when we see him on TV nowadays? He used to be sort of crazy and funny when he was on TV, and now, he's still got a little of that, but it seems relatively subdued. Maybe he's just gorwn up a little more.
Alright. Thanks again for that Eariel. I'm going to go and check out A&F to see if that Happy Feet thing is the one I watched. And yes! Post in the Frodo club!
EDIT: *coughslightlyofftopiccough* Guess what guys? I finally bought the Open Door!!! EEP! I only got to listen to the first couple of songs, but it's good so far. I was planning out this really awesome Frovid set to Weight of the World, but I'll never make it, since I can't make vids. It was nice planning it though.

Oh, you got the Open Door! I'm glad--hope you like it as much as I do! (I plan vidoes i don't have the technology, so to speak, to make as well, TT. I might make one of Frodo to Lithium--love that song!--or All That I'm Living For, both of which would (well, i'm not as sure whether Lithium would) be about when the Quest is over, but Frodo's still dealing with all he went through. Also, I was thinking of making with Sweet Sacrifice, where it would be like he was talking to the Ring. Thinking about it that way, especially this line, "And oh you love to hate me don't you, honey?" started me giggling. lol anyway...)
I don't see Elijah on TV much, so I'm not sure i'd be the best one to ask on whether he's changed. I hope he doesn't lose all of that "crazy and funny" quality (though i don't really think he will ), but people do grow and change. *sigh* (Though love--in any and all of its forms, not just the romantic type--doesn't have to. ) You're welcome, btw. Could you post the link to that other video you mentioned? (Though I may do some 'snooping' on my own as well. ) Speaking of TRL, I found a great series of vidoes of Elijah, Billy and Dom on TRL on youtube. (I believe the vids were from shortly before Rotk came out. A long time ago, yes, but they talked about LotR, so that can't be wrong. ) Here's the link to the first--there are six in all (I believe), which you can probably (hopefully) find.

Btw, since i was the last person to post in the Frodo club, i can't post in it unless i edit my post, so...one of you has to be the first to liven it back up, i guess.
Edit: Nevermind, i think this is the one you were talking about, TT.
