As for Norrington dying, as much as I love his character, I think it would make sense. Personally I never thought it made sense for him to turn pirate, but pirate he turned, and I really can't see him realistically going back to his former glory.
Maybe for a short while, but...what about that line:
"By remembering I serve others, not only myself."
It seems to me the only way he can get back to his former position is by going against his statement here. And that would be quite un-Norry like.
*sighs* Maybe I'm still stuck in the first film. I haven't seen DMC since July, so...my judgement of the characters isn't quite up-to-date.
Anyway. I would like it if Norry, you know, sort of reaped what he sowed. He did decide to go pirate...to return, unchanged, would be unrealistic. And dying? Around these pirates, quite realistic.

:p I would prefer if he didn't... But, I mean, I wouldn't be bawling my eyes out if he did. If you know what I mean.

RA, have you ever read my fanfic (just one chapter) "Nothing I Didn't Deserve"? It basically sums up how I think James is feeling right now, and why he ended up a "rum-pot deckhand what takes orders from pirates." I can post it if anyone's not read it.

I agree with you.

Oh, yes, I remember it now. I have read it, and it was excellent. It did help me see his piont of view.
However, I still would rather have him the way he was at the end of CotBP, a proper gentlemen with a respected position in the Navy. ;P I'm a terrible first-movie purist.

you know i really don't think i have a opinion on this. i mean it won't bother me which way he ends up. i think maybe if he goes back it may anoy me alittle if he tries to be the old norrington, the stuck up proper by the book man, but we know he'll never be able to be the same no matter how he tries cuz he's been on the other side now, he's been through the whole pirate thing. but idk right now i just don't care which way he choses to go.

Okay, so I'm in a very good mood right now, as these last several days have been filled with a deluge of delicious spoilers. I've got enough to temporarily satisfy my hunger, and more than enough to digest and speculate over for a while. So, as a result of my good mood, y'all get a few pretty new pictures that I...borrowed.
Should keep ye occupied for a while.

Let the speculations begin!

*Scrutinizes intensely* Verrrrry interesting. The first picture, though - is Elizabeth adding ANOTHER unfortunate male to her love...um...polygon? Loving the oriental costumes, tho!
And the last one - YAY! Finally an AWE picture of Will, if not a great one. Will has been sorely neglected!

Mel, look more closely at Elizabeth's hand and also to the left of the man in her grasp (name's Tai Huang). Romance is the last thing on her mind (though we all know what happened to the last guy she kissed...)
Btw, for those who don't normally check the fanfic section, I posted a new PotC one in there...it's another Bootstrap/Will one-shot.

Oh, I see now For a second there I was worried. What's that weird white background behind Barbossa/Elizabeth and Jack in those two pictures? It looks like sand at the bottom, but not really up higher.
Hey, I read that one! It was very good, I could totally picture Will the serious little four-year old.

Well, the background on those pics, I think, is just the one used by the magazine. They were used with a recent article in some magazine (can't remember which), so...yeah.
And thanks! It randomly popped into my head, and I really didn't want to do Chemistry homework, so it just kinda...happened.

Yeah, that happens to me too.
Boy, I love Elizabeth's costume in the pic with her and Barbossa, but I wonder if that's earlier in the movie or later, because she seems to have on a different one in the top two pictures and I don't know what the heck she's wearing in the bottom one
