Fwee is a great word too. But meh works for so many different instances that you can't top it. Just sums everything up so well.

Going back to ancestries very briefly...- Sadly I can't call myself completely, one hundred percent Briton. Mum traces her ancestry back to Germany, however that was years ago and many, many generations back. It does leave a black mark on my record though, doesn't it?

I'm more Irish than English. My dad's dad was Irish and as my immediate family come from Liverpool which in history has had many Irish settlers living there, or Irish passing through to go to America, I'm pretty much Irish. I know there is also some German-Jewish in me as well from a great-great-great grandmother or something.

Seems to be a lot of Irish ancestory here I love Ireland, nothing better than horse riding in woods or along the beach with no one else for miles. I talk to a lot of people online who don't know anything about it and yet rubbish it becuase they think it's all potatoes and drunk people

Ive studied Irish History and I agree with ur feeling of annoyance at steroetying of th eIrish. Their history and culture are extremely complex and have had a major effect on British history.

Well, blame it on American educations and my ignorance, but I know very little of Ireland except there is the IRA, there was a potato famine which caused a massive Irish immigration, the majority of the Irish are Catholics, and the British have control of a province called Northern Ireland.

It is a subject I feel that needs more looking at because it affects not only Britain, but at leaste the USA and other parts of the world.
