It's a British thing, but basically it's a very fancy ice cream sundae. Usually it consists of ice cream, jelly, fruit, cream, syrup, nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry. Alcohol and meringue can be added depending on how it is made. Almost the equivalent of a parfait, but better.

So so far I think we have got:
Large trees (to the ceiling)
Classical music and waltzes
Rock music
Snowflakes falling from the ceiling
Roaring fires
Swags and wreaths
Candles
Bows and garlands twisted round pillars
Minature Minas Tirith ice sculptures
Fairys (that perhaps light and keep the candles burning)
Lots of glitter and tinsel
And how about:
Tinkling bells
Secret Santa parcels under the trees
Crackers (like those from Parry Potter)
Indoor fireworks
Party Poppers
Chocolate tree decorations (little snacks)
Is this also the place to discuss food?
 Fwee! Sounds amazing!
If we're having food we have to have about a hundred different Christmas cakes, all hand made with lots of little icing stars, snowflakes etc. Knickerbocker Glories like Lar said, and MINCE PIES, we have to have mince pies. A proper roast with potatoes of every kind, peas, carrots, stuffing, lesagne, ice cream of every flavour. Chocolate fountains, of all three chocolates, sugar mice, christmas pudding with lashings of brandy sause....

We need TONS of yummy Christmas-type food and lots and lots of Lembas Cookies, in Christmas Cookie-Cutter shapes!  *imagines a piece of lembas in the shape of a christmas tree*
I love the idea of big trees!! With pretty, white lights and ribbons.

We needto have LOTS and LOTS of food, so us hobbit-ish people will be happy. *giggle*
Lets see, to add to the list... bread and honey, snickerdoodles, keish, italian ravioli, matzah, potato latkes [YUM!], taffy, cranberries, stuffed jalapeno's, and apple studel. Mm.

i don't know what it's made of, but it's sooooooo good!!!!!! it's a weird brown color i think with chocolate (i think) inside...i'm not sure...but it's good......hey i'll bring some to the ball if no one knows how to make it!

hhmm...I think EL and I are justgoing to walk through the snow, but I'm not going to were a big dress, probably just a nice tunic...so walking wouldn't be too messy for us!
SNICKERDOODLES!!! Fencing Madien, you hath read my mind as well, I can bring the snickerdoodles, me and my mom can make really good snickerdoodles.......hhmm... I don't really know what everything else you mentioned is...but oh welll, Snickerdoodles! (and bread and honey, and raviolli, and apple strudle, and cranberries, and taffy, and all that other stuff...)
and spiral ham, and turkey, and macaroni n' chesse, homemade, of corse, none of that box-mix stuff(sorry, but I really like tha way my mom makes it for thanksgiving and christmas)
ok, well, I could go on, but I am making myself hungry, so, g2g!
