Nope, don't think we do :erm: *is sad* they sound good...

I dunno, it depends on my mood and the book/film. Sometimes I just want to give my mind a holiday and watch something, and sometimes (especially if I'm reading a book in a series that I love, or I'm at an exceptionally dramatic part) I just want to curl up and lose myself in a book.

Sorry. :P It's not often us Brits have something Americans don't have. Food-wise that it. Y'all seem to have great eating places.

Can anyone answer that question or just Mods? :innocent:

 That made me :-)

I think I pretty much agree with Arwen, especially about losing yourself in a book. I believe that curling up with a good book, all cosy and warm, is one of the most pleasurable experiences. I mean, I really like watching films, and I used to watch one every day, but I'm really reading a lot now, so at the moment my preferance is books. :D

When I want to crash, I'll watch a movie. If I want to relax, or discover, or just indulge myself, I'll read.

I think I agree with you all on the book vs film front. Book are fabulous because everything in there is yours, the way you see things and people, no two people see it the same. Where as with films, they can often be more consuming because you're seeing it and feeling it and hearing it...

I'll shut up now.

agrees on the book/film thing too.... :) sometimes even both just to compare, but honestly...I'm a book girl, let my mind wander, my imagination free once in a while from the required textbook reading and work related stress.. :p

Questions. Hmm. Ok, this is a bit of a random question, but, do you prefer books or films? Like if you could watch a film or read a book, which would you do?
Depends on what it is, but I'm a book person. I read... compulsively. Reread things to death and then read them again. It's like I have to read or I will DIE.
I quite like films and I really enjoy watching them, but my staying alive and sane doesn't depend on them. :P

-posts me own question for the moddies and members- do you have any special Winter/Holiday/Family traditions?

Our family has a few, but one of my favs is no matter where everyone is, no matter how old...we get together at some point over the holidays and toast one another (with cranberry gingerale! no alcohol here) and remind one another how lucky we are to be a part of the family. Usually ending the night curled up in various spots near the fireplace, with just it and the Tree lights shining...it's very Norman Rockwell and classic, but sweet.

Well we don't have Christmas traditions as such, but we all get together on the 24th of December as it's my dad's birthday and the whole family comes. And then we all head down to the home where my grandma is on Christmas Day to wish her happy Christmas.

I love the Christmas Eve Service, especially singing "Silent Night" and "O Holy Night" by candellight.

This Christmas I'm most excited to see some of my extended family. We used to see them every couple of months, but as we've all gotten older, I haven't seen them in over 6 months. I just love being with them, and Thanksgiving was not the same without them this year. So I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also expecting a new camera *cough*

Unfortunately though, I've kind of started to see Christmas for what it is this year, since I've been working in retail. Not for what it truely, truely is, but for the way we, as a society, treat it. I work at a toy store, and every day I see parents laying down $300 or $400 on presents for ONE KID. People start getting mean and nasty (well moreso) when they've been out shopping all day, spending money on worthless things for people they don't even like. And the tacky light up inflatable santas, snowmen, and nativity scenes people put in their front yards. Shoot me now. I don't know how Christmas is in England or anywhere else, but I hate what it's become in America. Its not that I don't think we should buy gifts for eachother, but does it honestly have to be so much? What happened to the days when each kid got 3 or 4 gifts and oranges in their stockings? Christmas began in the utmost simplicity, and I wish it could continue to be so.

:hide: Agh! It's Belle the scary, whom I have not seen for quite some time.

I agree with you totally, people spend rediculous amounts of money on people these days, why can't we just give a card and say, some chocolate to our friends? And parents I have to say need to be more realistic, especially the ones that spend hundreds of pounds on a child that can't even walk and won't even remember. And the reduculous amounts of lights and stuff that people put outside their houses, what happened to the traditional christmas decorations, that weren't OTT?

*Rolls eyes* Now you've got me started. Lol.
