Ha! Yes! Ninja Turtles! I loved them!!!
Ohh! I agree Ivy, cartoons nowadays just don't match the awesomness of the cartoons of "our day". It's depressing of what kind of morals can be taught to children....
I still do have a guilty pleasure of watching the little kid show "Arthur", it's good for background noise, and also I only have 3 channels....and PBS is my favorite... and sometimes I really can't watch Dr. Phil without making fun of him and that's why I end up watching Arthur...anyways, it always ends happy

ARTHUR!! Yay for Arthur! And Ninja Turtles. I worship the turtles. I never did like Barney or the Power Rangers. And PBS just plain rocks. That's all I can say!

Thanks for posting that info, Ivreniel!
As I'm not from the US, I couldn't know Mr. Rogers before.
I also loved "Sesame Street" when I was a child. I wateched it regularly as well as the Ninja Turtles.
What were your favourite animated movies then?
Mine were The Lion King, Aladin, Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, Bambi and Balto. I really loved those movies and I enjoy watching some of them still today...*smiles* Sweet childhood memories...

Oh I used to love Arthur too
When I was younger my favourite animated movies were The Junglebook, Robin Hood and The BFG. I didn't see that many when I was wee though because we didn't get a TV until I was 10.

Ooo! I just watched "Aladdin" last night, hehe, well I just returned from my mom's bellydance class and I was inspired to watch it because one of the song's my mom choreographed a dance to, reminded me of a song off of Aladdin....I love Aladdin, When I was little I wanted to marry him.... Ha! But who didn't? Hehe...
What other Animated movies...hmm...I liked Snow White, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, Robin Hood.....hmmm....I can't think of others.....

Ha ha ha....*thinks of people dancing to Aladdin at your mom's class and starts to laugh hysterically* ... *cough*
Honestly, I didn't like Aladdin that much. I mean, I thought he was okay...but never so far as to marry him. *shakes head at Sida* Jafar could fill that roll for me. Sida knows what I'm talking about...*evil laughter*
Mmm...let me think. Little Mermaid, obviously. Though Ursula was my favourite. The Jungle Book...I did like the musical, but the live action one is better! Peter Pan ALL THE WAY! WOO! Lion King as well! Beauty & the Beast. Oddly enough, I think the beast is WAY more attractive that when he changes back. Ha ha ha ha.....man, why can't I think of anything else?!
Oh, and I just thought I'd say that I like how this forum for us "elder, more mature" folk of the forum, are reminiscing of our lost childhood! Ha ha ha! Oh, I just watched Mary Poppins last night (how could I forget)! Oh the memories it brought back! I watched that movie ALL THE TIME! I basically worshipped it. Oh...and since I grew up on Batman (as well as the Ninja Turtles) I did watch all the Batman movies. Michael Keaton was the coolest. Ha ha ha! He still is! Christian Bale can't hold a candle to his Batman-ness!
I will say this. I did grow up with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy (and he rightfully still is). I think those of us old enough, and LUCKY enough to have seen the BBC's version of Pride & Prejudice know what I'm talking about. I remember, because my mom always made me watch all this British stuff...so I was like 10 or something....and I remember the MOMENT I laid eyes on Mr. Darcy, I was in love. Now if there were ever a character that I would marry...it'd be him. Ha ha ha! He's MINE!

Oh what movies? Well, we didn't watch Disney. It was mostly PBS on TV. I remember going to see the original 101 Dalmations, and Jungle Book in the theater, but movies? Not really. That was later.

How could I forget Snow White, the Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid?
OMG, I think I should watch some of these movies in the future again. I just feel like it somehow now..

laughs and remembers some of those movies... I hated Bambi though and still do... I cannot watch movies where animals suffer, even a cartoon...yeah I'm a sap. Beauty and the Beast, I so agree with above posts how the Beast was a better character before turning back to his princely self...lol And I wanted to be Snow White and live in the woods with the animals when I was a kid....minus the evil step mum/ queen after me.

Well, Bambi always made me cry when I watched it. It was always so sad when the mother died and Bambi couldn't understand it. But I loved the rabbit, I don't remember his name anymore, very much.

I think that's because the Prince became a Marty-Sam in a way--'cause I feel the same about Beast vs. Prince. Just think, too, Belle in the Disney version fell in love with one guy and had to marry another!

*drags the club back up from miserable page 3*
Happy holidays. Christmas is over and it always seem to go so fast. This year the whole thing actually seemed to be over quite fast. I had a final/term paper due December 20th and had to work Thursday and Friday so I didn't get my mind set on Christmas until the 22th. It feels like I've missed the whole month that other people had to prepare their minds for the holidays... Now I'm here on the 25th and it's all over... although I had some great days and I'm really looking forward to some days off where I can do nothing but relaxing, reading a book (for pleasure, mind you, not for school), spending some time e-mailing A-U'ing, writing the Christmas cards I didn't have time to write before Christmas... owh.. and apparently I've got time to be sick as well. My throat is all sore and I'm having a light head ache... but nothing bad... I'm sure it's passing in a couple of days...

-searches through the club threads for this one-
Ea, I do hope you're feeling much better by now...
I don't know about all of you but the holidays have a different feel now that I'm an "adult" For example when I was a child I couldn't wait to open presents, my thinking was "what was I going to get???" - give me, give me- itus.. and now... I honestly think I enjoy the holidays more, whether it be New Year's, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or whatever... I enjoy just spending time with family and friends, seeing what they're getting as gifts and I don't stuff myself with so much sugar like I did when I was 7...

Last year I was ill for the entire holiday break--stuck flat on my back in bed the entire time. So this year I was rather excited, actually. It was a very relaxing time.

Awww, poor Ea! Hope you are feeling better! I know what you mean about the holidays, school went to like the 16th or something, and up until that point I didn't even think about Christmas. It was ridiculous. I had to do crazy holiday shopping, and decorating our house and cleaning it....ugh. It seemed like I was nonstop until I got back home AFTER Christmas. We always, it seems, go to my aunt and uncle's ranch for Christmas. What a nightmare. I mean, it was fun and everything...but I definately had my share of family for quite a while. Ha ha ha. But I was happy this year, because we haven't been gettting much snow lately....in past years....and there was quite a bit more snow than recently where I was. So that made me happy! Sledding and snowmobiling made much more fun!
But I agree with Tin, I seem to be more fond of being with family and such. We almost didn't go to the ranch, but I begged and begged (as did my aunt-bizarre) and we finally went. And the reason I wanted to go, besides tradition, was because I wanted to be around family. And my cousin, who also came back from college for break told me the same thing. Weird, huh? Ha ha ha...
After Christmas though, I've been sleeping like I haven't been on break for two weeks. Ha ha ha...very relaxing!

Thank you for your concern. I'm feeling much better now
Well, passed is the holiday season and this club continues to lead a miserable life on page three...
